Author's Bio
I've been reading romance novels for as long as I can remember. I dabbled in writing for the first time in the 7th grade, when the book I had just finished had the most awful endingthe hero and heroine did not end up together. I felt cheated! After days of whimpering and whining to my friends and family, someone suggested I rewrite the ending if I hated it that much. So I did. And thus my journey began...
I wrote my first full length novel in 1995, a historical set in the Pacific Northwest. After completing a few other historicals, I tried my hand in paranormal and had a blast playing around with time travel. Around the same time frame, I joined my local Search And Rescue (SAR) and discovered my true passionsuspense.
My first contemporary romantic suspense novel, Rescue Me, is set on the coast of Washington State, where I grew up. I haven't decided whether I'd like to create a series of SAR books, but am leaning very strongly toward writing another. Having been in SAR for a number of years now, it is something near and dear to me, and something I want to share with others.
From the instant I picked up my first "secret government agency" book, I was hooked. I love the plot twists and turns, the danger and intrigue. I knew I had to write one. I created the National Agency of Safety, Security, and Defense, or NASSD, and got down to business. Once I completed At Any Cost I couldn't stop at just one NASSD novel. I fell in love with the characters and their plights. The secondary hero demanded his own story (how could I deny him?), so I continued his story line in Seek and Destroy, which introduced the McKoy Family. With seven children, three mischievous girls and four very bad boys, I have enough to keep me busy. I'm currently in the process of completing It Takes Two, the third book in the NASSD series.
Currently I live in the beautiful mountains of Montana with my husband and children. If you'd like to contact me, please visit me on the web. Click the 'Contact Me' link for details on how to reach me. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I hope you enjoy the stories!
Author's Profile
Q: Would you say there is an element of you in the characters you write?
A: It's more an element of what I want to be. In At Any Cost, my heroine is witty, instant with her comebacks to get a rise out of the hero, and is sexy as hell. Who wouldn't want to be like that?
Q: What about the hero?
A: [Smiling] The hero has every element I fantasize about!
Q: Of all your books, which love scene do you wish you could have actually participated in?
A: What makes you think I haven't? [Laughs] If I had to make a choice, it would be between the kitchen scene in Seek and Destroy and the couch scene in Rescue Me. The first one is hot, hot, hot! The characters used the kitchen counter in ways that even surprised me. The second is more tender, but not any less steamy. I'd settle for either one.
Q: Which one of your characters would you most likely have a drink with?
A: I'm absolutely in love with Spencer from Rescue Me. There's something about a man in uniform. Yum! But, to be fair, Dan from At Any Cost can still melt my heart with a shot of those piercing blue eyes! And I love the way David from Seek and Destroy seems like such a playboy on the surface, only to turn into one hell of a fierce and devoted lover behind closed (elevator) doors.
Q: You are a wife, a mother, work a full time job, and are in the process of remodeling a house. Where do you find the time to write?
A: Ask any writer and they'll tell you the same thingyou can't not write. It's in our blood. In our brain. We could be busy twenty-three hours out of the day and choose to take that remaining hour to write instead of sleep. When your characters demand it, you have no choice but to oblige. Does that make me sound insane?
Q: Yes, actually. It does. Would you say other authors think the same way?
A: Absolutely. We are all insane. [Laughs] But it takes a writer to understand a writer. We are a unique breed.
Q: What are you working on right now?
A: I'm finishing up the third book in my NASSD series. I've just finished sketching out the abstract plots of the remaining books in the series. I'm also working on a couple of stand alone suspense books. But what really has me excited is this mnage book I'm working on. It is different than anything I've written in the past. It is really, really scorching. Beyond sizzling.
Q: A mnage, huh? Can you give us more information on it?
A: It is a set at a Gentlemen's Club in Seattle. Two men. One woman. Her sister has gone missing and she poses as a courtesan at the club to find her. Little does she know more than her sister is missing and there just so happens to be an undercover agent at the club investigating the disappearances. Add a highroller who outbids the agent for her company and you have one hell of a story! Did I already give away too much?
Q: Not at all! I want to know more. When will it be ready?
A: I'm a fast writer, so I plan to have something out soon. Check my website for updates on this and my other works in progress.
