Author's Profile
Q: Where do you get your ideas for your stories?
A: From a variety of things. Movies, music, art, places, people, random events. Something will trigger the "what if" scenario in my brain and I'm off and running with my version of the story.
Q: When do you write?
A: Whenever Real Life permits. If I have an idea for a scene, a character, or a story line, I do try to get it into the computer as quickly as possible before I forget it. I usually try to plan on an hour in the very early morning, though.
Q: What is your favorite genre to write?
A: I don't really have a favorite. Each story sort of goes its own way, so I try to stay flexible. I do prefer a hint of paranormal and/or mystery. I almost always combine several genres as well.
Q: Do you outline?
A: No. I don't outline. I try to be as much of a "pantser" as possible so the story develops naturally, but I will occasionally write a long blurb or brief synopsis first and use that as a rough guideline.
Q: Do you write in sequence?
A: Rarely. I don't like to lose ideas for scenes or secondary characters, so I'll write them as they come to me and figure out how to fit them in later.
