5 RAVENS, RECOMMENDED READ: "If you have not read Bound: (A Faery Story) by Sophie Oak , you just might want to read it first before reading Beast (A Faery Story 2) just so you can truly get an appreciation for Dante, the fun loving, womanizing, vampire that is the main character. He truly stole the show so to speak from his cousins Beck and Cian in book 1 and while they return in Beast, they are content to be in the background. Kaja is a refreshingly delightful new addition as the consort that turns Dante’s head. Ms. Oak’s development of these two characters is breathtaking and leaves the reader not wanting their story to stop. You will love Kaja from the very start and will fall for Dante’s charm all over again. The change in Dante’s character of turning him into a Dominant was an interesting choice and allowed a surprise character from one of Ms. Oak’s previous series to pop into the story. If you aren’t quite sure whether or not a fantasy line is your cup of tea, trust me when I tell you that you won’t regret it and you will walk away charmed by Kaja, Dante, and all their friends. True to the romantic that Sophie Oak is, the surprising epilogue of Beast (A Faery Story 2) will leave readers anxious and excited."

5 STARS: "When I first found out that Dante from the book in the A Faery Story series was getting his own book, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical. But I should have known better. I mean this is SOPHIE OAK we're talking about here, right? BEAST: A FAERY STORY absolutely blew me away. With the phenomenal world-building, fantastic characters, and superb eroticism that I've come to associate with the one and only Sophie Oak, this book was another amazing five star read for me! Dante, playboy of the Dellacourt family, has found himself at the center of yet another scandal, but this time his family has had enough. His father tells him to get a consort and settle down, or else. Well, Dante doesn't appreciate the threat, so he devises a scheme to get the most inappropriate consort he can find so that his parents will regret giving him the ultimatum. When he finds out that there's a uncontrollable woman in the gnome marketplace, he thinks he may have just found the perfect woman to help with his plans. But he has no idea just how perfect she is. Kaja is a werewolf who's been shunned by her pack. Paying for the sins of her father, she's never been truly part of the pack, but when they kick her out altogether, she has to fend for herself. Imagine her fear when she wakes up in a cage on another plane of existence. When she sees Dante with his cousin Beck, the warrior king, she mistakes Beck as the biggest threat. But when Dante thoroughly dominates her and makes her submit, she knows who her master is. Something about Kaja speaks to Dante. She brings out his inner beast, and he soon discovers that he must embrace his dominant nature to tame the woman who's claimed his soul. But when evil threatens both of their lives, Dante may realize what he's in danger of losing a little too late. Ok, let me first start by saying: Dante, I had no idea you had it in you, buddy! Whew, when we first meet him in Bound: A Faery Story, I thought he was silly, harmless, even, but boy were my eyes opened. Deliciously dominant, Dante took all those playboy ways, added some spanking, bondage as well as a few other erotic treats and focused them on one woman. Man, I swooned the entire way through the book. Kaja was a phenomenal character, but I think the way she was written made her even better. In the beginning her language was stilted and confused, but as she became acclimated and calmer, we saw her develop into a wonderfully strong woman who was starting to see her self-worth finally. It was almost as if we were going through the changes with her as she becomes more self confident and secure in her new surrounding. Kaja and Dante were explosive together. So incredibly hot. I think what made things hotter between them was the fact that Dante couldn't seem to control those dominant urges. The world-building was fantastic. Based on alternate universes, we see things on different planes that are close to our world but different. Even the technology was a bit different. Leave it to Sophie Oak to think up a butt plug that comes with ginger oil to add a little burn when the wearer tries to fight the plug! (Sophie, I think you should try to get a patent on that!) We also get to see some alternate universe versions of friends from other books (it figures that Julian Lodge would be a Dom with two subs in ANY universe, LOL). We also got to see some of the characters from the first book, which I also loved. While you don't have to read the first book, Bound, to read Beast, I think it would be helpful to know some of the back story before reading this one. What made me even happier though is we got a sneak peak of what's ahead for the series, and I cannot wait! All in all, what can I say? BEAST: A FAERY STORY was amazing. Not only was it erotic, it was a fantastic story that sucked me in from page one until the end. I have loved everything that Sophie Oak is written, and I must say she's on a definite roll. Yes, you need to read these in order. The reader learns more about the society of the various paranormal worlds, or planes, as they are called. The societal mores regarding consorts and bondmates got more interesting as I read. Tournaments to compete for one are the norm, though Dante didn’t have to fight for Kaja, due to some interesting circumstances.
