5 TEA CUPS: "Tristan Williamson, a 400-year-old vampire, is looking for a way to become human again. Someone informed him that a girl’s blood might be the cure to turn him human again. But when he went to drink her blood, he found that he could not do it, so he befriended her. He also made a promise with a bartender, who is his closest friend that he would not drink (or kill) out of need for food. He never said he could not kill out of vengeance though. His promise is tested to the limits many times. When Anna Carlson was just a girl, she fell in love with Tristan. But Tristan left her and her bitterness grew over the years that he was gone. Now, years later, once she became a beautiful woman, she is going to help Tristan find the cure that he has been looking for, only to fall in love with him again and doom herself to a fate that could ruin her forever. There were so many beautiful twists and turns with this story. Every time I thought that I had the story figured out, there was another twist or turn. I was hooked from the very first paragraph. There is so much that I want to say, but I might be spoiling the best parts of this book if I did. I could not put this book down until the last word. I have read many vampire novels, so I thought I knew what to expect, but Angela changed my mind. Her writing is exquisite; she describes in beautiful detail every scene. I would recommend this book to all of my friends and family who enjoy reading paranormal romance. Great job, Angela!" -- Drew, Happily Ever After Reviews

Excerpt

“Am I dreaming?” she whispered as he stepped farther into the light.

His pale face looked grim. The half smile playing on his dark lips reminded her of the man she remembered, the prince who carried the blue heart and stole hers in a mere second of just standing there.

“You’ve come home.” She mouthed the words, not making a sound, afraid if she breathed he’d disappear.

He lifted his dark eyes to hers. Frightened tears turned to excitement, and she ran as fast as her wobbly legs would allow. She threw her arms around his neck, finding tears she’d hidden away since that terrible night he’d left. Then finally, when she felt his arms reach around her, holding her to him, she believed. Not a dream or a strange man invading her space, but Tristan, her dark prince had finally come home.

“Anna,” he whispered as he held her close, breathing in.

His chest rose and fell, making her tremble as it brushed against her exposed skin. Her body suddenly ached in a way she’d never felt before. With all her strength, she held on, wanting him to breathe more. He easily pried loose of her grip and shoved her away so hard she fell to the floor.

 “You look awful.”

Wiping black tears with the back of her hand, she drew in a breath, calming the anger building inside. She shook her head, remembering how much he’d hurt her when he left.

“That’s a real nice thing to say,” she spat as she glanced down at her open shirt. Realizing her bra was still undone, she quickly clasped it and stood up. “After all these years, why did you come back only to put me down?”

“I did not mean to come face-to-face with you.” He turned away from her, but she caught him by the arm and swung him back around.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means you wasted my time by coming here tonight.”

That hurt. She couldn’t help looking at the floor, feeling like the shattered glass at her feet. She’d cry again, but then, she hadn’t quit since he’d revealed himself in the light.

The coolness of his palm on her cheek startled her. He cupped her face, slid his fingers down to her chin, and then gently lifted, forcing her to look at him.

He inspected her, thumbing a small amount of tears from her cheek. “You are too beautiful to hide behind all this black.”

Lost in his abyss, charmed, she lifted her hand to touch his face, but he moved his head back.

“I’ve always known who you are,” she whispered. “But you’ve never showed me your face in full light. For once, I just want to see you.”

“You know nothing of me.”

“You are my dark prince.”

She took him by the hand and led him closer to the fire. He tried to move away again, but she tightened her grip. This time he didn’t stop her from exploring as she raised her hand and pushed back his long black hair, revealing the man exactly as she remembered.

He was so beautiful with his skin as pale as the clouds, forming a wondrous backdrop for his eyes, black as the night. The reflection of the fire burned in them, but she felt safe, as if he were her protective angel.

He lowered his head, hiding. “You should not look at me.”

“You’re the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen,” she said softly. “I can’t help it.”
