The daemon is everything an antagonist should be. Sadistic, evil, and has the Rosin brothers under his thumb. Alexander is driven by power, at first, while his brother Donavan is driven by his love for his twin. These characters are believable and change, in ways, over the course of the story. What I found truly interesting is the complete one eighty the twins make where the daemon's concerned. Ms. Hart writes a enthralling and imaginative book.
