I really dig a story where the main characters aren't perfect :) Makes it more believable :) Well, as believable as fiction can be anyway, but you know what I mean.

I found the characters to be refreshing and inspiring. The story, well written and motivating. The conflict believable without a doubt. Everything about this one just clicked together and really worked making it a very enjoyable read :)

This is a short read, but definitely worth it. Ty is a hot, talented ballroom dancer and Sherrie is a shy, costume designer. Right from their first meeting the sparks fly. Since the book is a quick read, there is not a lot of focus on the secondary characters, but Ty and Sherrie’s quick romance is more than satisfying. This is a hot, sensual read that will leave readers smiling. The book also moves at a fast pace, and focuses on several interactions between Ty and Sherrie. These interactions are filled with details and well-developed character interactions. In addition, the author works in some hot dance moves and sensual teasing with a steamy Paso Doble and Rumba that are very tantalizing. Fans of Luxie Ryder will enjoy Ty and Sherrie's whirlwind romance.

After Sherrie Alveston damaged her leg in a motor cycle accident, she decided to start her life anew. She began working as costume designer on a hit celebrity dance show. The job proves to be very difficult as she has a lot of trouble concentrating on her sewing when Ty Webster, a gorgeous and flirtatious dancer, is in the room. One night the seam in Ty’s pants rips, and as Sherrie tries to concentrate on fixing them they both feel a physical attraction that cannot be denied. As their relationship begins to bud, Ty’s beautiful dance partner tries to break them apart. Sherrie doesn’t feel that she can compete with the dance queen, and Ty sets out to prove his true feelings for Sherrie.

********

In Dance like Nobody’s Watching, Luxie Ryder gives her readers a short fun romance that will bring back a little lost adolescence in everyone. This book made me feel like I was watching a John Hughes teen angst 80’s movie, but it was better because it is all adult with the steamy sex scenes.

This book had the three main character types to make a great love triangle: the cute, imperfect heroine, who everyone is rooting for; the popular hot guy who is looking for something more than good looks in a girlfriend; and the beautiful, yet snotty popular girl who will do anything she can to keep her man. This combination of characterizations makes for a good story about competition and romance, Ms. Ryder takes it to a more adult level with communication and mature actions on the part of the individuals involved.

In all 80’s teen movies, there is always the scene at the school dance, and this modern grown up tale of love and lust is no exception. There were two main settings for this story of romance: behind the scenes of a TV dance show and on the set of a teen dance movie. I loved that Ms. Ryder set the first part of the book behind the scenes of a TV celebrity dance competition. I thought it was a neat idea to loosely base it on a show that is popular right now. It also gives a fun peek into what it may actually be like behind the scenes, and it was an energetic and fun place to set the scene for romance. The climax of the story comes to head at while filming a high school dance scene; Sherrie is staring at the man of her dreams as he dances with the popular girl. That is classic movies scene that I grew up watching and I can relate to it, which left me with a feeling of nostalgia.

I also love the fact that Luxie Ryder can fit three exciting, passionate and sweet love scenes in a book that is only fifty-six pages, along with a complete and well told story. She didn’t skimp on setting the scenes, or making her characters realistic, and I never felt like I was missing any part of the story. That is a sign of a great writer. Dance like Nobody’s Watching is a funny, fast paced and light hearted story that was a hoot to read. Well done Ms. Ryder; well done.

Sherrie Alveston would never in a million years have thought someone as gorgeous as the dancing pro, Tyrone Webster, would be interested in her. After all, in her mind, she was just an ordinary looking, young, handicapped woman with a leg brace and pronounced limp. Sherrie is a seamstress on the set of Ty Webster’s dancing show and has long admired him from afar. In her mind he is way out of her league and definitely unattainable, but a girl can dream can't she?

Ty Webster felt there was something special about Sherrie. She was a tough lady to figure out, and it was almost impossible to get past the shield that she seemed to put up whenever he came near. It took the unexpected mishap of a ripped pair of pants to bring the two together and sparks to fly. As the shyness and reserve Sherrie feels begins to lessen, she and Ty feel a strong attraction to one another. Before long, it is physically impossible to keep their hands off one another.

Still, in the back of Sherrie’s mind, she wonders if Ty is simply using her or if he could possibly harbor genuine feelings for her. To further muddy the waters, Ty’s professional dancing partner, Diana, seems to have feelings for Ty as well and is more than happy to hurl insults Sherrie’s way at any given opportunity, sometimes, going as far as to make fun of Sherrie’s handicapped condition in order to humiliate her.

Ty faces a big challenge if he wants a future of any kind with Sherrie. Doubting that Ty’s feelings could possibly be genuine, Sherrie has begun to again erect the wall around herself. Somehow, he must get through to her, making her realize that for him, she is the one. If only he could make her believe that she was worth everything to him.

Dance Like Nobody’s Watchingby Luxie Ryder is a wonderful short story. The two characters, Sherrie and Ty, are helpless to the attraction that they feel for each other. While Ty appears to be smitten with Sherrie, she doubts the sincerity of his feelings because of deep issues she has with her self-esteem. She finds it hard to believe that someone of Ty’s fame and good looks could possibly have feelings for her. Reasons for her feelings of inadequacy are two-fold. She is very self-conscious about her injured leg, which has to be in a brace and causes her to have a noticeable limp. Second, she just considers herself ordinary, someone who would just blend into the woodwork. She cannot possibly fathom someone has famously hunky and talented as Ty wanting her. Her feelings are so realistic that I am sure many people found it easy to relate to her frame of mind. I found myself affected for this very reason.

The chemistry between Sherrie and Ty is very sexy. There is magnetism between the two that they cannot possibly ignore. When they do come together in intimate moments, the sex is combustible. The moments are very sensual and are not in the least overly graphic. I really enjoyed reading Dance Like Nobody’s Watching. It was a well-written, fast-paced read. I was so engrossed in the great storyline that Ms. Ryder had spun, that I didn’t want it to end. I wanted the story to go further. To me, it had great depth for being a short story. I would definitely recommend this book to lovers of the contemporary romance genre. So, if you are looking for a new romance to read, I can wholeheartedly say that Dance Like Nobody’s Watching is a good place to start if you like romances with happy endings.

5.Coffee Time Romance

Sherrie Alveston has always loved to watch Ty Webster dance on the television. Being able to work with him on the reality show is like a dream come true for her.

From the beginning, Ty has never made a big deal about Sherrie’s damaged leg. While others would have ignored it, he asked her about the accident and then considered it part of who she is.

Alone in her room at night it is Ty that Sherrie fantasizes about when she reaches for her pleasure. She could never imagine someone like him wanting someone like her. But when he does go for Sherrie, it allows her to share a night of amazing passion with the star. Now she will have to figure out her own insecurities and overcome her own prejudices in order for her and Ty to have a relationship worthy of their love.

Dance like Nobody’s Watching is a beautiful and soulful tale. I loved how Ms. Ryder added sensuality, romance, and humor to this novel. It gives it a quality that I find endearing and had me turning pages as fast as I could. The way Sherrie fights with Ty about her disability, only to realize how she is belittling herself, makes this book seem that much more realistic and gives the reader the chance to relate to her. This book is one hot commodity and something you can definitely look forward to enjoying.

Excerpt

Sherrie rushed to her little booth, hands shaking nervously as she got ready to make the repairs. If only it had been anyone but Ty, she wouldn’t have been so careless in the first place. The attraction she felt for him never failed to disrupt her concentration. Now, she was faced with the task of being near to his well-stuffed package again. Having trouble remembering how to function while doing the repair earlier had been the cause of this dilemma.

The dancers usually kept their costumes on as the seamstresses worked; saving both time and embarrassment by not exposing what was usually very minimal underwear. A man in skin-tight Lycra couldn’t wear much more than an athletic support underneath without it showing through.

“Are you ready for me?” Ty asked, making her jump as he appeared in the doorway.

You have no idea how ready! “Yes, come on in,” she replied as calmly as her voice allowed.

Sherrie took a shaky breath and sank to her knees in front of him, ready to do the fast repair needed to get him back on set before the director blew a gasket. Her gaze travelled upwards even as she willed it not to, and her mouth went dry as she met the bulge at his groin. She coughed to cover her almost audible groan before daring to look up into his face. If he noticed her perusal, he didn’t let on.

Ty Webster was six feet of lithe sinewy muscle, with thighs that could crack walnuts, made hard from years of training. The outfit he wore exposed his broad, hairless chest, typical of what male dancers often wore for the Latin routines—a skin tight shirt, revealing strong, bulging biceps, and slashed right down to the waist. The trousers were even tighter than the damn shirt. At thirty five years old, he had the body of a man half his age thanks to years of competing at the top of his field. He’d been with Strictly Dancing since the show first aired and watching him every Sunday night had been one of Sherrie’s guilty pleasures.

Ty’s moss green eyes, dark blonde hair and killer smile knocked her off her feet even through the TV screen, but in the flesh, he was the epitome of lethal sensuality. Since then, she’d watched him from the shadows, her lust for him growing with each routine. She would’ve rather died in the motorbike accident that mangled her leg than ever let her injuries hold her back, for she had no qualms about pursuing men she wanted. But for some strange reason Ty was different. It was like he was on a pedestal she couldn’t reach.

His eyes narrowed to barely more than slits when he finally looked down at her face, mere inches from his groin. An erotic image flashed into her mind briefly and she wondered how he would react if she allowed her mouth to follow her thoughts. Without thought of the consequences, her teeth gently skimmed over the bulge stretching the fabric of his trousers, then she quickly corrected herself, hoping he hadn’t noticed.

“Are you ok?” Ty asked. “Your hands are shaking.”

“I’m scared I might prick you with the needle.” She laughed when she realized what she’d said. Good choice of word, idiot…especially when so near to his…

Ty clearly didn’t miss the humor.

“Would it be easier if I took them off?” He didn’t bother to wait for an answer, and hooked his thumbs into the waistband, sliding the trousers to his knees before she thought to avert her eyes.

The white elastic pouch of his jock strap filled her vision. For a moment she was rendered speechless. Once her mind refocused, Sherrie ducked her head and helped him step out of the pants before scurrying over to her chair to work on them. Ty kept his back to the wall, folding his hands loosely over his groin out of politeness rather than embarrassment she guessed. But he’d forgotten about the mirror behind him. Sherrie bit into her bottom lip when her gaze landed on the reflection of his tautly muscled ass.

“So, do you like it?”

Sherrie’s gaze flew up to his. Had he noticed where her eyes had been? “Excuse me?”

“Strictly Dancing—how do you like working on the show?”

She chuckled, relieved. “Oh, the show…it’s great.”

A twinkle appeared in his eyes. “And my ass? Do you like that too?”

A full bodied, uninhibited laugh tore from her throat. Ty joined in, unfolding his hands and placing them on the counter behind him, seeming to enjoy her response.

“Thank God for that,” he said. Sherrie frowned, unsure what he meant. “This is the first time I’ve seen you truly relax since you got here,” he added.

She smiled. “It’s all a bit new to me, but all of the larger-than-life characters and fake glamour actually appeal to my perverse sense of humor.” Oh shit. She hoped he didn’t think she was talking about him.

Ty appeared not to have heard her anyway. “Well, you should laugh more often. It’s very sexy.”

Forcing herself to remain calm and stick to the matter at hand, Sherrie was also well-aware that his eyes were still on her and it made her nervous all over again. Suddenly, she wished she’d made more of an effort on her appearance, as tight jeans and a scruffy t-shirt were what she usually wore.

“There, all done,” she announced, handing the garment to him and turning her back as he put it on.

“Okay, I’m decent,” he said, then chuckled when she turned to face him. “Thanks.”

Obviously, giving him privacy to dress wasn’t necessary, considering her teeth had already been against his cup. She blushed from the vivid recollection. “No problem.”

He paused by the door, as if he wanted to say something. Sherrie waited for him to speak but Ty simply continued to stare at her with an unreadable expression on his face. She held her breath as his gaze suddenly glanced down to the rest of her body, pausing for a split second on the way back up. She almost felt his gaze when it lingered on her nipples, and she didn’t need to look to know they were hard and probably visible through her thin t-shirt.

Unable to simply stand still as his eyes took a bold assessment of her body, Sherrie looked down towards the trousers she’d just repaired, checking that her stitches would hold. They were more than okay. The seam at Ty’s groin was now managing to successfully restrain the beginnings of a hard-on. She pursed her lips as the cup protecting his package visibly pushed further out, and she wondered if it was painful for a man to sport an erection in a handful of plastic.

He cleared his throat. “I didn’t get your name.”

Her gaze flew back up to his and she realized he’d caught her staring. “Sherilyn…Sherrie,” she corrected.

“Well, Sherrie,” he said, putting a sexy emphasis on the word, “I’m not gonna be able to go back out there like this am I?” He gestured down towards his swollen groin but she didn’t flinch, staring resolutely into his eyes despite the urge to allow herself just one more look. “So if you don’t mind, I’m gonna need to be alone for a minute.”

“What are you going to do?”
