5 CHERRIES: "This is Joyee Flynn’s first solo book and let me tell you she hit the ground running! I started reading this story and the next thing I knew, I was done it had me so enthralled. Neil and Ryan thought they had lucked out by finding each other. They both suffered not only traumatic childhoods but everything about their lives was rough until they meet Gabriel. That does not mean Gabriel did not need them as much as they needed him. Gabriel had lived a life of solitude for a long time. Humans usually feared him since he was a dragon shifter and either ran for cover or tried to figure out a way to kill him. He was willing to take care of all of Ryan and Neil’s needs just so he would no longer be lonely. This was definitely a unique story. There was an extremely creative idea on the authors’ part that had me re-reading to make sure I'd read it correctly. Very interesting and some things you won’t be able to find anywhere else other than a fictional story. The relationship between these three men developed fairly quickly. Ryan and Neil had already had an established relationship and they were willing to include Gabriel almost immediately. They did however, have a hard time accepting that Gabriel could really care about them. The pace of these relationships were written extremely well. Ryan and Neil’s background enabled me, as a reader, to understand why the relationship developed at the rate it did. This story was also a rollercoaster of sweet and sexy. One second the characters melted your heart and the next they sent your libido somersaulting. Now to the hot parts, and let me tell you there were a lot. These guys had sex in any and every way imaginable. There was sex around every corner and sometimes you only made it half way around the corner before the sex began. For a girl like me, who loves her stories nice and dirty, it was lovely. All three men were capable of multiple orgasms and they sure did utilize their abilities and stamina. They couldn’t seem to get enough of each other and I, along with any other reader, will surely understand why. 4.5 RAVENS: "Dragon Mine is a sweet love story with some unusual and interesting twists and turns. Gabriel is a Dragon Shifter who in all his 860 years has not found his mate. He has been feared and shunned by humans. Through his centuries of extreme loneliness, Gabe has continued to be a kindhearted and generous person. When two men are being beaten as they lay unconscious in an alley, Gabe decides he cannot just walk away, and determines to help them until they can get back on their feet. Neil and Ryan are young men who have had horrible life experiences and it's remarkable that they survived with any spirit intact at all. They have been friends and lovers since being sold into sexual slavery as teens. I get the sense that neither would have survived the years as slaves without the support of the other. None of the three men are terribly secure. Gabriel is afraid of losing his mates and being lonely again and Neil and Ryan are afraid something will change to the point that they won’t be wanted any longer and their lives will go back to the hell it was before meeting Gabriel. In many ways this story is about people who have been wounded by society’s evils, learning to trust, and having the courage to turn their lives around. There are several interesting ideas in this book. The characteristics of Dragon Shifters in this story are different than in other books I've read and I must admit that I enjoyed the original approach. The issue of the humans attempting to kill off female dragons but in error killing completely human women was sadly reminiscent of the Salem Witch Trials. And the situation of reproduction made me laugh out loud…several times. Over-population would be a non-issue if the scenario for reproduction in this story came to pass. Joyee Flynn’s characters are quite active sexually. Multiple orgasms seemed to be the norm and Gabe, Neil and Ryan worked hard to accommodate all possible permutations for sexual combinations involving three males. There is a level of tenderness and patient understanding in Dragon Mine that I sometimes miss in paranormal books. That tenderness and love was expressed very clearly in the epilogue that brought things together so well. I enjoyed this book. About an hour after he had cleaned them up, Gabriel heard a noise in the hallway. Turning around he saw the blond man limp into the kitchen.

“Hi,” Gabriel said, slowly walking to the man.

“Where are we?” the man asked just before he collapsed. As quick as a flash, Gabriel was there to catch him.

“Where does it hurt, little one?” he asked gently.

“Everywhere,” the man whimpered, “I wanted to get clean, but I didn’t think I could by myself.”

“I don’t mind helping you, but I didn’t think I should while you were still out,” he said, lifting the man into his arms and heading toward the bedroom. “I’m Gabriel Panlong. I walked by as you and your friend were beaten up.”

“I know, you saved us,” the man whispered. “Gabriel.”

“Yes?” he replied.

“Are we going to stay here with you now? Does this make us your slaves, because you took us from the other men?” the little man asked. Fear, stark and vivid, glittered in his eyes.

Gabriel just stared at him in shock as he sat down on the edge of the tub to run the water. “What’s your name?”

“Neil. Neil Murphy.”

“Okay, Neil, you can stay here as long as you want,” Gabriel said, slowly pulling of the man’s clothes. “But you’re not my slaves. I don’t have slaves. I don’t want slaves. “Thank you,” Neil moaned as Gabriel washed his back. After a few moments, when they were almost done, Neil spoke up again. “You’re a dragon, aren’t you?”

“Yes,” he answered, looking away, afraid of what he was going to find in Neil’s face.

“That’s so cool,” Neil said. “I think it would be bad-ass to be able to fly.”

“Really?” His head whipped back to look at Neil. “You’re not horrified or disgusted? You’re not scared of me?”

“No, why would I be?” Neil answered. “You’ve been nothing but nice to me. So you can change into a dragon? You’re still a person.”

“Thank you, Neil,” Gabriel whispered. “Most people don’t think that way. Either people run when they find out or try to kill me.”

“Well, I’m not going to run, and I’m pretty sure you’d kick my ass if I tried to hurt you.” Neil giggled as they finished up. Gabriel pulled out the drain, then lifted Neil out and onto his lap. At the same time, he grabbed a towel and helped him dry off. When they were done, he carried Neil into the bedroom and helped him pull on shorts. He didn’t put on a shirt so Gabriel could look at his wounds.

“If you want, I can take you flying with me,” he offered as he carried Neil back to the kitchen. Gabriel set the small man down on the counter and grabbed the first aid kit.

“I’d like that,” Neil answered, looking into his eyes. Gabriel could get lost in Neil’s bright, cobalt-blue eyes. They were almost magical. He had to shake himself back to reality.

“How old are you?” he asked, looking Neil over for cuts.

“Twenty-one. You?”

“How much older is a tad?” Neil raised an eyebrow.
