“I don’t want to let you out of my sight. Fierce, strong, beautiful, caring and proud queen, you captured this warrior in your tiny hand,” Tagg whispered, leaning closer.
Exhaustion disappeared at his beautiful words and desire flared, pushing back the pain and discomfort.
He tilted closer, trailed his fingers down her cheekbone. “You’re hurting, I shouldn’t push this…need.”
“No, no, please push, for I have it for you.” Threading her fingers through his dark hair, Jana tugged his face closer.
Their lips met, opened, touched, and lingered upon one another. She slid her tongue against his luscious lips, and when he pulled back to stare at her, they glistened. Questions were in his eyes about her discomfort.
“Don’t even think about leaving me alone. I need the touch of another dragon tonight. Please, I want it to be you,” she whispered, tangling her fingers in his hair.
“Your wound?”
“Healing, we’ll be fine. Now, strip, handsome.”
Both of his eyebrows shot up toward his hairline. “Excuse me?”
“Strip.”
“Hmm, commanding a captain of the guard?”
“I am the royal one. Strip.” She beckoned him to begin with her fingers.
“As you wish, my queen.”
Rising to his feet, he picked up the bowl and carried the chair to the corner. Returning, he pulled his shirt off, revealing powerful, defined abs, full pectorals, and shoulders with defined biceps. Other than a slight scattering of body hair on his lower arms and pits, nothing marred the beauty of his upper chest. Only a thin glory trail bisected the middle of his lower abdomen and arrowed down into his pants. He shrugged, flexed and pumped the muscles on display.
She pushed herself from lying flat and sat to get a better look at his masculine grace and gorgeousness. Holding the sheet over her breasts, she crooked her fingers.
Complying, he stepped forward and knelt on one knee to get to her level and not strain her wound. She noticed how he remained vigilant about her care and discomfort.
“Such a tall one, unlike the Ices.” She reached out to trace across the line of his broad shoulders. The sheet tumbled to reveal her to his gaze. She studied him while his gazed drifted down, and she loved how he looked upon her. “Your dragon form is magnificent. So proud and strong, I couldn’t believe how easily you carried me and one of my wounded warriors for the entire flight.”
“You were unconscious for most of it.”
“I had an inkling of what you did for us.” She stroked her fingers across his shoulders, thumbs against the line of his collarbone, before she moved down to trace the powerful, flexing pectorals. Circling the flat discs of the dark nipples, she watched his eyes darken with arousal while the nubs tightened.
“Let me touch you.”
“No, keep your hands at your sides.”
She watched him when she gave the order, knowing he was used to giving orders, not taking them from anyone, let alone from a petite female. Lifting one hand, she traced the lines and planes of his face.
“So powerful, so sure of yourself. Give yourself over to me for this night, my warrior. Let me have the control.”
“I’ve never given up control. Not to anyone.”
“You will give it to me.”
