“And may I ask what you will be doing while I’m checking all this out?” She asked him in growing irritation.
He flashed her a grin. “Oh don’t worry, I’ll be just as busy.” Yep, he would be busy alright, he'd be occupied finding a woman to ease the infernal ache she created in him.
Laine closed the folder with a flip of her hand, sat back in her chair and gazed out the window. Frowning thoughtfully, she definitely didn’t intend to work the whole time they were on the island. He shouldn’t expect her to. Darn it, she wasn’t going to. She intended to enjoy herself while she was there.
Who knew, she just might find some man she fancied. The thought brought a smile to her face. It would be a perfect solution if she could find a stranger that excited her here. It would save her money, and she wouldn’t have to take her holiday after all.
Ford observed Laine from beneath heavy lids. By the expressions flitting across her face, he knew she was up to something. When she smiled, his body tensed and his hands gripped the arms of his seat. He would have to keep a very close eye on her while they were on the island.
Well, it shouldn’t be too hard. They were sharing a bungalow after all. His mouth lifted up in a small smile, just thinking how she would react when she found out. It was a good thing she had forgotten to change the reservations when he demanded she join him. She would be even more furious over finding out that he left her suitcase behind, and she would be wearing clothes that he supplied.
His regard shifted over her, and he admitted the dress she wore now wasn’t too bad. It did look good on her, but he doubted that she would own too many outfits that looked like this one. In the two years, she’s worked for him, she hadn’t worn anything but ankle length skirts and high necked blouses.
