[Siren Classic: Erotic Paranormal Romance]
Delius never asked for his fate, but in a world that placed all its faith in prophecy, he would be a fool to challenge it. He felt like a parasite, forced to live off the fear of humans.
From the first time Delius became trapped in Selina's mind and seduced by her provocative thoughts, he was drawn to her. She was a mystery that turned into an obsession. Yet, for them to have a life together, Delius would have to go against his own race that demanded he fulfill his destiny. One that did not include Selina.
A Siren Erotic Romance
4.5 TEACUPS: "Ms. Espino definitely has a way with words, making the reader feel like they are watching the book unfold right in front of them! The heroine, Selina, was the right blend of action and emotion. She held her own during the story and was a great balance to the hero Delius. I was pleasantly surprised by a second storyline that expertly wound around the relationship between Selina and Delius. The theme of the story was relevant, but not overdone. I walked away with some things to think about, in addition to the surge of warmth brought on from the well-crafted love scenes. Overall, I was very pleased with this read and I think Ms. Espino has the beginnings of a great series here (hint hint)!" -- LynnMarie, Happily Ever After Reviews
4.5 STARS: "Delius and his five brothers are Fear Demons. But in Ms. Espino’s world, demons are not hideous creatures from hell. The Demons (Fear, Lust and Aggression) are immortal beings that look like humans (good looking ones, albeit) and feed off human energy. They (rarely) hurt humans, but they (are not supposed to) interfere with human activities. Delius has never been happy with his lot in life - feeling like a leach and always witnessing the “evil” humanity has to offer. He is sent to investigate a human that doesn’t project fear, and as soon as he sees Selina, he is drawn to her. She is an enigma, but it’s more that the mystery that attracts him. He cannot help but feel possessive, and the desire for both blooms. Soon, Selina is pulled into the unknown world of Demons, where faith in prophecy rule above all and an impending Demon War is looming. This book was like CRACK for me. I seriously could not put it down. I was reading while at work, in my car (not while driving), while making dinner, in line and the grocery store, etc. It started with the unique and engrossing mythology. Then I couldn’t resist the smokin’ hot sex scenes. But Ms. Espino reeled me in with the love story. Delius and Selina are a great couple. They come from different worlds and they struggle to find their way together. They try to figure out if love can conquer all...can one choose love that is forbidden? What if it is not fated? What if choosing love means war and death? Their scenes were touching, heart-warming, and at times heart-wrenching. There is no question that Selena is different, but when they all jump to the same (and wrong) conclusion about her origins I wanted to scream, because it was obvious that they were wrong! But luckily, they all figured out who is what and who belongs to whom in a fairly timely manner. And in the middle of all of this hot romance, mating and action is a mystery. There is a rogue Fear Demon killing humans through nightmares (which is against the rules). It was fun to try and put together all of the pieces and watch them unfold (I was wrong with my guesses!) This story is a wonderful mix of paranormal fantasy, erotic romance, action and mystery. I cannot wait to read Ms. Espino’s follow up book, Fearless Love." -- Twimom227
4 STARS: "This is the first book in the Immortal Love series and one that I enjoyed. A curious story of demons and nightmares. I found the whole concept interesting. As demon stories go, I thought this one was unique. Fearless Desires is a compelling story. Full of passion and destiny, very seductive. I loved Delius and his brothers. Stacey Espino has written a delectable tale that takes you away." --Anna, Anna's Book Blog
His black eyes looked predatory as he gave Selina the once-over. He undressed her with his eyes, and instead of being insulted, she hoped he liked what he saw. If she thought the other two cops looked stunning, he took the prize. Suddenly, she wished she had put on some makeup in the morning.
“Aren’t you nervous?” he asked.
He seemed to expect she should be, which only ignited the earlier anger inside her. She wasn’t on trial. She was the bloody victim here.
“Should I be?”
He only shrugged nonchalantly, still not taking his eyes off her. The other two cops shuffled into place, taking seats at the table, and motioned her to an open chair across from them. Okay, maybe she was a little nervous. Her emotions felt scattered all over the place—anger, bitterness, fear, and lust. It didn’t help that this new cop was absolutely yummy.
“I’m Officer Delius,” he said. His voice sounded just as she’d imagined, deep and velvety. With a jerk of his chin, he introduced Dark Eyes as Officer Loukas and the other as Officer Javen, who began to speak as if on cue.
“Tell us about the day you were almost attacked.” Officer Javen appeared hyped up on caffeine, barely able to sit still as he waited to hear the account she had already given.
“I don’t understand why I’m here. I don’t have any new information to offer.”
“Please, just repeat it.”
“Fine. We were walking through the campus grounds and three guys dressed in black with different Halloween masks jumped us. They had knives and one of them cut Shelley.” She took a breath, not realizing the account still bothered her as much as it did. “It could have been worse if they weren’t scared off when they were.”
“Were you afraid?” asked Officer Javen.
He snapped at her, reminding her of an angry pit bull. “No, you weren’t!”
Selina furrowed her brow and glared at him. What an asshole!
“Javen, you’re not helping,” interrupted Officer Delius, who then took over the questioning.
“Selina Ridgeway… How did you feel when you were being threatened on the night in question?”
“Selina,” she answered, not liking the formal treatment.
“Call me Selina. Just Selina.”
“Okay, Selina. Please answer the question.” He brought his legs down and leaned over the table on his elbows. He bit gently on his lower lip and slowly released it, looking at her as if she were a puzzle to solve. Damn, his lips were perfect. She imagined tasting him and wondered what the texture of his lips would be as her tongue slid across them.
What was wrong with her? She shifted in her seat and forced herself to focus on the questioning. “Why do you care what I was feeling? Shouldn’t you be out looking for the guys who did this instead of wasting your time questioning me again?”
“Please. Selina. Were you afraid?”
She rolled her eyes and shook her head absently. Of course she was afraid. Who wouldn’t be?
“Yes, I was afraid. I was terrified.” Did they think she was a heartless freak?
“She’s lying!” shouted Javen. He stood and slapped both hands on the table, causing the water in the pitcher to spill over.
Selina woke from another Delius fantasy to find him kneeling right beside her bed. The rational part of her brain told her this was beyond wrong. It was every woman’s worst nightmare. But every other instinct within her was alive with desire. All the years of holding back because she knew she could lose control no longer mattered. She knew Delius would be able to handle her. He wouldn’t whine and shy away if things got rough. Hell, he’d probably like it. No, she knew he would. He was strong, thick-skinned, and dangerous. Before she could rationalize her actions, she pulled him to her mouth. More than anything, she had to taste him. Holding back a minute longer was not an option.
She finally touched him, felt his warm lips against hers, and lost herself in sensation. His muscles strained as he hovered over her, rising from his knees. With his broad shoulders and perfectly toned arms braced over her, she felt like she was being swallowed up. A current of raw energy tingled through her veins, demanding to be sated. “Delius,” she repeated.
With a firm but gentle hand, he pinned her arms above her head. The act only excited her further, and she writhed beneath him, needing him closer. She convinced herself she was dreaming. Her mind was already fuzzy at best, and Delius showing up in her room while she slept didn’t make sense.
“Selina, what happened to you? What happened after you found out about your adoption?” His voice was formal and controlled.
Selina responded by raising her head to try and reach his lips again, but he remained out of reach. Why was her fantasy man being so difficult? She squirmed, but he held his free hand to her stomach to still her. How could any real man possess so much control or have such a one-track mind? She had thrown herself at him, and he only worried about her past. Definitely dreaming. Her current state of arousal wouldn’t let her contemplate why he wanted to know her secrets. All that mattered was feeling his lips against hers and having his warm, strong hands caress every inch of her body.
“Selina, answer the question. What are you hiding? What happened after you found out about your adoption?” He raised his voice and tightened his grip. She didn’t like this side of him, but knew deep down he wanted her as much as she needed him.
“Kiss me,” she begged. Her lips parted, moist and swollen. Her whole body ached for him.
“No. First, you answer my question.”
For the briefest moment, she focused, just long enough to answer him. “I’ll never tell you that.”
She would never tell him about her worst nightmare, the one that made her feel like a freak of nature every day of her life. When she found out about her adoption as a teenager, she had attempted suicide. Nothing happened. She didn’t die. Couldn’t die. The conclusion she drew was that she had to be a zombie, some oddity that shouldn’t exist.
In voluntary resignation, Delius dropped down without releasing her arms and kissed her. The kiss was deep and overwhelming. His lips and tongue played and teased with hers. Everything was perfect—no guilt, no regret, no caution. She let herself enjoy the firm softness of his lips and the feel of his stubble on her cheeks. He couldn’t seem to get enough of her and Selina only wanted more of him.
“What are you doing to me, Selina?”
She sighed inwardly now that he didn’t hold back. Erotic dreams were commonplace for Selina, but this one felt more real than any she’d had in the past.
“Take off your pants, Delius.” Her body ached. She needed Delius to stop talking so he could fuck her. She wanted him to let loose and bring her every kind of pleasure that existed.
“I don’t think you know what you’re asking.” He released her arms and nuzzled her neck. His hot breath danced along her sensitive skin.
“Do I look like a little girl? I know exactly what I want.” She dug her nails into his leather-covered ass, squeezing firmly.
“Tell me what you want, Selina.”
“My body’s on fire, Delius. Only your cock can bring me relief.”
He didn’t reply. He pulled back until he knelt over her, long enough to toss off his shirt and unzip his pants. She reached up and followed the thin trail of hair leading into the waistline of his boxer briefs with her fingertips. He didn’t carry any extra fat. He was all firm man flesh. Electrical currents spiked through her pussy, making her shudder.
Delius stared down at her with his dark, mesmerizing eyes. “I shouldn’t be here, Selina. Say the word and I’ll leave.”
She responded by reaching past his waistband and freeing his erection. He looked down as her hand stroked the silken shaft with gentle fingers. No way would she send him away, not until he gave her exactly what she needed.
She wiggled out of her panties, and Delius lost the rest of his clothing. His nude form kneeling above her was rugged and masculine. Wild urges assaulted her. She wanted to squeeze him, scratch him, and bite him. One thing for sure, she wanted to fuck him. Rough and raw.
Grabbing his big dick, she tugged him toward her. He smirked and fell over her, supporting his weight on his elbows.
“Kiss me. I love how you kiss me.” She parted her lips, beckoning him with the tip of her tongue. He didn’t deny her. He crushed his mouth against hers hungrily. This was what she wanted. She wanted him to give himself to her freely without holding back. Watching the beast take over the man excited her, making her desperate to join with him in the most intimate way possible.
When he pressed the tip of his cock against her moist folds, she gasped. The contact felt electric, so real, but this was only a dream. This was definitely one erotic fantasy that she would keep to herself and not share with Melanie.
Delius eased his way inside her pussy. Her body gripped his shaft like a tight fist. As every inch of his impressive flesh filled her, her ache subsided. But her newfound relief only fuelled her desire for more. She spurred him on with her heels to his sides, like encouraging a stallion to move faster.
“More, Delius. More.”
“Don’t ask if you can’t take it.”
She chuckled. “Oh, I can take it. Fuck me hard and fast and don’t hold back.”
He complied. He began to thrust inside her like a finely tuned machine, powerful and untiring. Selina wrapped her arms around his neck, holding on tight as he pummeled her body with power and skill. She moaned as he brought her close to orgasm. Her sensations became magnified and took control of her thoughts.
“I’m going to come. Don’t stop. Don’t you dare stop, Delius.”
