Beautiful redhead Laura Malone didn’t know much about her ancestral heritage, except what her grandmother told her growing up. To her surprise, her grandmother left her a special gift in her will that included an unexpected trip to Ireland to carry out her last wishes by following a trail that told the story of the love between her and Laura’s grandfather fifty years earlier.

What Laura didn’t expect was the real gift, John Ennis, who she would meet on the way and how following the path of her ancestors would lead her to find her own true love at last.

“Excuse me, mind if I sit here?” she heard a male voice ask. She didn’t open her eyes until she heard him ask again. “Excuse me, miss. Mind if I sit here?”

Laura opened her eyes just enough to see a tall dark and handsome man leaning over her. She opened her eyes fully now.

She immediately recognized him as the man on the bridge, only now she could see how absolutely gorgeous he was up close. His thick, black, wavy hair and deep blue eyes would make any woman melt. Her hair was a frizzy mess thanks to the drizzle, and her makeup had been a thing of the distant past at this point. Figures, she thought, staring at the handsome stranger and wondering why they couldn’t have met later when she was changed into better clothes.

Feeling a bit silly for staring, she finally said “Sure—I mean yes, of course.” She stood up, about to lift her bag.

But before she could, he lifted the bag and effortlessly lifted it overhead. “Allow me,” he said.

His accent was so sexy Laura could barely stand it—she hoped he couldn’t see her mouth water. He was tall and substantial, with strong hands. He was also dressed impeccably in a suit and overcoat that looked like something out of a magazine.

“Thanks.” Laura closed her eyes again and this time, feigned sleep. His scent was keeping her on her toes. She could feel the warmth of his body emanating from his wool coat and she imagined what it would feel like to be with someone like that. Just sitting close to a man who attracted her so strongly was a feeling she had not allowed herself in a long time, telling herself that work was her priority. Now, though, she wondered how she ever could have let those other needs slide.

She could hear the gentle sounds of his newspaper crinkling as he turned the pages and caught a deeper whiff of his cologne as he took off his coat.

Mmm! Tall, dark and handsome. Just the way I like them!
