“Which sense do you think influences sex the most?” He asked once he’d caught his breath.
We were snuggled together with my head on his shoulder, both fully relaxed and boneless.
“What?”
I wondered how he could think of anything, much less something so esoteric, when I could barely breathe. I should be used to his off the wall statements after such mind blowing sex, but they still caught me off guard and intrigued me at the same time. Did it have something to do with him being a fireman? A man who ran into danger when others ran away? Or is it just that his brain is wired like mine, a little more creatively than most?
“You know, touch, taste, speech, smell, hearing. Which do you think is most closely tied to sex, to arousal?”
I shifted closer and laid my hand across his chest so I could swirl my fingers through his chest hair. The soft fur tickled as I considered his question. “I suppose it depends on the person,” I finally answered. “But I think they’re all tied together. Plus there is the sixth sense.”
“ESP?” He lifted his hand and covered mine, lacing our fingers together.
That simple touch warmed me. Touching him is my favorite thing to do, but listening to him talk is a very close second. I nuzzled my cheek against his shoulder, smiling when his arm tightened around my back.
“No, not ESP. Imagination. The brain is supposed to be the most powerful sex organ.”
“Hmm, maybe. But imagination isn’t one of the senses,” his soft words slurred as he relaxed fully. I kissed his chest before following him to sleep, his question still unanswered.
