Tetsu wanted to tell Nick he found him anything but broken down as Nick stripped in the walk-in closet attached to his spacious, corner office. Sure, Nick was as old as his father, but he was in good shape even with the few extra pounds that had been gathering around his middle the past year or so, and he looked as classy in simple pleated khakis, a light blue shirt and a navy blazer as he had in the formal business suit.
"Something the matter?" Nick asked. He glanced down to check that is fly was closed.
Tetsu cleared his throat. "Nothing wrong, sorry, just thinking things over. What exactly happened on the train that made you give that girl your card?"
Nick leaned against the edge of his desk, his arms folded across his middle. "As you may have gathered, the young lady's husband has been arrested for aggravated assault. He has priors for weapons charges, which she claims weren't real crimes—that he plead out to get it over with."
Tetsu winced. On the surface, this didn't seem like an innocent man in the wrong place at the wrong time. "This gut feeling of yours. How reliable is it?"
Nick made a "so-so" motion with his hand, then went to the small closet off his private bathroom. Most likely to retrieve his extra keys and some petty cash. "Do you have the company plastic on you?"
"I do."
"First order of business is getting a new phone."
"Shouldn't you call your bank and credit card company before we go? I know you said your wallet fell in a sewer but . . . ."
Grinning, Nick came over and ruffled Tetsu's hair. "And this is why you're my personal law clerk. You remember the little details I forget in my dotage."
Tetsu forced a laugh. His semi-hard cock softened and shrunk. Not that such a thing was a problem. It didn't seem right to have a hard-on for a guy who'd just treated him like a cute kid he was babysitting.
