"Once Upon a Moonlit Path is a sweet story. Fi's character was my favorite type of heroine. She was not afraid to do what was necessary to be happy, and she knew what she wanted. She had spirit, and she was no wilting flower. Hugh's character was the perfect foil for Fi. He was attracted to her, but didn't want her to pine for him if their attempt at his freedom didn't work. ADULT EXCERPT

Cupping her head in his hands, Hugh continued giving her long drawn out kisses. Then his kisses grew shorter, causing her to open her eyes in inquiry. He smiled down at her. “I never thought to desire a lass as much as I do ye, Fi. Nor did I imagine I could feel so much pleasure just at the sight of yer own.”

Fi gasped at the gentleness of his right thumb rubbing her lips, tracing them as if committing the sensation to memory. The hunger in his expression elicited a responding unrelenting desire within her. How she wished they were in his garden. So she could touch him as he touched her now. She wanted to strip his clothing from his brawny body so she could expose his hidden secrets, reveal the differences between them.

“Touch me, kiss me, Hugh.” 

“My pleasure, dearling.” The feel of his lips on her mouth, her eyes, face and chin left Fi consumed in sensation. When she felt the enticing pressure of his lips move down her neck, Fi began panting, anticipating the moment his mouth would reach her breasts. Her nipples now pointed painfully and ached for him to assuage her need.

“Ye have lovely breasts, Fi,” Hugh informed her, as he cupped her breasts in his hands, weighing them, kneading them as if he could really feel her flesh.

Fi certainly could feel him touching them.

Moaning, Fi undulated beneath his touch. She gasped when she felt the touch of his lips on her heated skin. “Mmm,” she moaned.

“That’s it, fair Fi, enjoy yerself,” he murmured against the nipple he presently suckled.

“Oh, Hugh…”

“Aye, love?”

“I want…” How could she tell him what she wanted when she knew not herself? How could she explain the deep yearning within her heart? Or the emptiness she felt in her woman’s passage?

“Tell me what you want, Fi,” Hugh asked, the pressure of his arms pulling on her until she rolled with him and they lay facing each other.

“Verra well.” Hugh’s lips twitched in a knowing half smile. He returned to kissing her and slid his arms around her naked back, pulling her closer.

That she could feel the firmness of his broad chest against her body amazed Fi. But she wouldn’t complain. It caused a delicious sensation to skitter along her spine, branching out until she shivered with delight.

A throaty moan escaped her as Hugh’s big hands explored her flesh. Down her back he went, stopping over the twin globes of her buttocks to grasp them, kneading them firmly before pulling her hips against him.

After giving her a heartrendingly deep kiss, Hugh began another sensual journey. His hands pulled  her toward him as his lips trailed alternately tender and rough kisses along her jawline, down her neck. By the time he reached her breasts, Fi’s heart pounded in anticipation. Never in her life had she wanted anything as much as the suckling pressure of his mouth on her now tender nipples, which he latched onto with relish.

“Ah!” she cried out as a searing pang shot from the tips of her breast to her nether regions, warmth spreading throughout her body. Fi felt a sudden dampness between her thighs, increasing her desire to pull him closer, to have him join his body with her own.

 He did not neglect her other breast while he continued the pulling pressure on her right breast. His other hand was very busy indeed. He kept his right hand busy kneading her other breast and pulling her nipple, until Fi heard herself mewling from the depths of her throat.

“That’s it, love,” Hugh pulled away from his sensual ministrations only long enough to encourage her in a gruff voice, before returning to his devotion of her pleasure.

“Hugh,” she whispered. “I wish I could touch you. Do the things to you that you are doing to me.”

Hugh looked into her face. His hungry expression no less fierce than her desire felt. “Aye, sweet Fi, I wish for that as well. But for now this is all we have.” As he said the words, he grasped her hands, raising them up to cover the swollen flesh of her breasts. “Let me see you caress yourself.”

Heat suffused up Fi’s neck and into her face.

“Nay, love, do not be embarrassed. I long to see you give yourself pleasure, even as I do the same,” Hugh insisted, helping her by using his hands over hers to set the pace of her caresses. “Mmm, lovely,” he murmured once he’d pulled his hands away and observed her movements.

Once satisfied with her actions, Hugh let his fingers travel lightly along her sensitized skin. “How I wish I could feel the softness of your flesh, love, smell your woman’s scent, taste the sweet dew of your sex. ”

“Oh, Hugh.” Fi bowed her body toward him, wishing she could change things and grant his fervent wish.
