After reading the blurb I knew this was a story I had to read. Remi discovers he has a mate when he smells his mate's scent on another werewolf in his pack. His excitement dwindles when he finds out his mate is a drug addict. I admired Remi’s determination when it came to protecting his mate from himself. These big strong werewolves are big softies when it comes to their mates and Drew needs more help than most in dealing with his problems. To read how Remi submits to his much smaller mate to help him heal is very endearing. Drew is grateful that Remi and the other pack members believe in him, but the daily craving of drugs makes living the on the straight and narrow difficult for Drew. He is definitely a people pleaser, but because of it he sometimes put himself in compromising positions. It was fun to read how Drew interacted with the other mates. This is a man you have hope for to beat his addiction and learn to love himself. For all readers of the Brac Pack, Ms. Hagen does give updates on characters we have grown to love and introduces new ones into the fold. It’s nice to get updates on the characters from the previous books and to see how these characters all become ingrained into each other’s lives. I really really admired and liked him for his courage to do just that. He is very human and has all the human flaws associated with drug dependency. Yet, I was cheering for him. 4 STARS: "Howl if you love wolves – especially those of the Brac Pack! REMI'S PUP, the fourth installment in Lynn Hagen's Brac Pack, is a great addition to the series. Remi searches for his mate. His only clue: a vague description and a lingering smell on Hawk's shirt. When Remi finally spots him, Drew has just purchased drugs from his ex-boyfriend/drug dealer at the food court. Remi is not going to allow his mate to poison himself with drugs and confronts Drew in the parking lot. Drew, thinking Remi is a cop, runs from him but he doesn't get far. Remi takes him back to the den house and, with the help of the other members of the pack, gets Drew through withdrawals. Drew has self- esteem problems and turned to drugs as a way to deal with them. Drew feels that Remi deserves better than a drug addict for a mate but doesn't know if he can give up the drugs. Now he has something worth fighting for and a mate that is willing to stick by him and help him fight. This story line, like the three previous, deals with some very real problems and doesn't shy away from the downfalls that can and will happen in a relationship. While this is a short book, the plot is well thought out and flows well with the rest of the series. The sex scenes are hot and added another layer of trust between the couple. STORY EXCERPT

Remi knew what his mate was about to do, and there was no way it was going to happen. He grabbed the kid’s arm, shoving his sleeve up.

The warrior closed his eyes, not wanting to see what he suspected. Track marks littered his arm like spiderwebs. Remi wished he could heal them, but they were too old to do anything about. It would be a constant reminder to his mate of what his life had been about.

His mate yanked his arm away, shame showing in his eyes.

“How the hell did you get in here?” The smaller man bent down, grabbing the black box. Remi snatched it from him and opened the lid. Drug paraphernalia. A growl ripped from his chest as he pulled the items out, breaking and bending everything, shredding the plastic band into tiny pieces like a crazed man.

“Stop! What are you doing? Give it here!” The kid dove for Remi’s hands, trying to save whatever he could. Remi destroyed it all.

“Give me what you bought.” Remi knew that’s why the kid was at the mall. He had watched the transaction, watched as he shoved a small yellow packet into his coat pocket. That packet needed to be destroyed.

The kid shot into his bedroom, the snick of the lock indicating the man’s intent. Oh, his mate was really asking to get his ass kicked. Remi’s eyes shifted, too enraged to hold his wolf back any longer. His brows furrowed in anger as he kicked the door open, and he saw his mate stuffing something in his closet. Remi grabbed his arm, pulling it back to find a little yellow packet smashed in his palm. He wrestled it out of his grasp and found the bathroom, flushing it.

The ride seemed to take triple the amount of time it normally should have to get from the city to their small town. They pulled into the gravel drive, Storm stopping directly in front of the door. Remi crawled out as Storm opened the back door for him then helped him through the front door of the house.

All noise ceased in the den. All eyes on him. He didn’t blame his fellow Sentries. He had disappeared for two weeks, searching for the scent he had discovered clinging to his Commander’s clothes. His Commander, Hawk, had told him that he approached a young male at the mall for information when Hawk’s mate had gone missing. That’s the only stranger he had come in close contact with that day.

Remi had lived in his truck, waiting to spot his mate that Hawk had described to him. Finally, today, he found him. Hawk also told Remi that Drew had asked for money for his helpful information. He suspected drug use, which set Remi on his hunt to find his mate as quickly as possible.
