Wildlife photographer Sarah Whitaker has an obsession with lions. When she hears there’s a dangerous, elusive, majestic, man-eating pride living in the heart of the Serengeti, she wastes no time in tracking them down. Funny thing, when she finally finds them, one particular lion seems to love posing for her camera. Keto Rarh is amused when he finds out he has a stalker. Usually, he loves toying with humans, chasing and scaring the hell out of them. But this generously-curved black beauty makes him ache in all the bad places. She has a pretty smile, too. Exotic face. And ample flesh he can’t wait to get his hands on to. Maybe it was time for him to settle down with a mate. Sarah’s too busy paparazzing the noble creature to realize the rules of the game have suddenly changed and that the stalker has become the stalked... 15 Ratings

Professional ReviewsI loved Sarah's Lion. One of my favorite things about this series is that the K'stal shifters like their women to have curves. So the women in these books are stick figures like you see in so many magazines and books. These are real women. My favorite part in Sarah's Lion is where is he introducing himself to Sarah. (Sorry but you have to read it to really know what I mean). Keto is sweet yet somewhat cocky. I couldn't put Sarah's Lion down. It was a quick read and I loved every moment of it. I can't wait for more books from Lizzie. Sarah's Lion is a must read for big cat shifter lovers. ~ Marissa D, Sizzling Hot Book Reviews ~ 4/5 Hearts * * * My only complaint about Sarah’s Lion is that it was just that—little. I’d like to have seen it last longer. Loved the story. Loved the setting. Loved the characters. Excellent read. ~ Alberta, Manic Readers ~ 4.5/5 Stars ExcerptYou have a fan, Cyeon spoke to him in mind-speak. So I notice. Keto pretended to lick his front paw as he caught a glimpse to his right. Approximately a hundred yards from where he and his pride sunbathed, a photographer was busy snapping her camera behind a low, dense bush. He watched as she tried to conceal her presence. Poor attempt at that too. Keto saw the flare of the lens against the sun’s rays. He heard the rapid clicking of the shutter. And he smelled the perfume she wore. Keto snorted. She must be an amateur. A professional wildlife photographer would know better than to wear perfume when they went photo hunting. Since their scent would’ve given away their presence. Contrary to popular belief, animals weren’t that stupid. Feeling curious, he looked directly into the bush. He expected the incessant clicking to stop. Instead, the photographer began snapping her camera like a madman. It seemed she was no longer trying to be discreet. Keto saw the upper part of her body between the tangled vines. Neatly braided dark hair gathered into a long ponytail. Red lipstick. A row of pearly white teeth when she smiled. Dark bronze skin tempered in sunshine. White halter top that barely contained her curvaceous figure. Hot damn. Suddenly, Keto became intrigued. He sniffed the air. The arid, hot breeze swirled past him. Her perfume drifted to his senses. Jasmine. Her musk. Sweat. They commingled together, creating one intoxicatingly sweet aroma. He noticed something underneath it. Keto sniffed again. Good lord. The woman was ovulating, he guessed. No, he was sure. He detected that special scent. He bet if he checked out her panties they would be moist. She’s cute, Keto announced to his pride. Jax perked up in an instant. He lifted his head and opened his eyes. Who’s cute? He was napping near a boulder. Jennifer, Cyeon’s mate, had cooked them American-style burgers and big, fat fries for lunch. They’d all gorged themselves like pigs. The air was so hot it had made them sleepy afterward. Cyeon, Keto and his cousin, Jax, had decided to take a nap near the waterhole. Jen didn’t like napping outside. She complained of it being too hot for her liking, that she’d rather stay in their pride’s abode where it was air conditioned. The photographer, Keto replied. Fuck that. She’s a babe. Oh yeah? Jax got up from his spot and plopped down next to him. His tail swished. No shit. She’s gorgeous. I tag her. Keto sat up. He puffed his chest, his mane dancing against the dry breeze. She’s mine. No fair, Jax protested. I saw her first. Besides, you’ve got a girlfriend. Jax groaned at his cousin. We broke up last week. She moved back to England. Really? Keto asked as he turned to him. I want to say I’m sorry, but that ex-girlfriend of yours is pesky. Rather annoying. Yeah, she kinda is…I mean, was. Cate was obsessed with finding out if I’m a shifter. Well? Are you? Jax blinked. What shifter? I’m a handyman. I fix air conditioners. Generators. Lamps. Broken windows. I know no stinking shifters. Keto didn’t know why his cousin had kept his identity secret from his girlfriend. Maybe because Cate was so nosy, or perhaps because she wasn’t the one. Their pride, the K’stal, an ancient order of lion shape-shifters who had ruled the Serengeti over centuries, was very elusive. They didn’t socialize with town folk. They rarely disclosed their identities. Some locals knew about them, but they never openly talked about it. Especially the seniors. In the old days, some of the tribes had worshipped the K’stal pride as gods of the Serengeti. They danced and gave them offerings. The practice had died down over the years, but the respect still lingered. Anyway, Cate is gone and I’m open for business, Jax added, his gaze focused on the photographer with interest. Not her, Keto said quickly. Saw her first. Besides, she likes me. He flexed his muscles. Stretched out his paws and whipped his tail. She wanted to take pictures of him, so the least he could do was oblige the pretty woman. He wasn’t a stranger to modeling. He had spent last year in Paris, studying art at Parsons, where on occasion, he had modeled for his fellow students. His human form had pleased many, especially women. At six-foot-six with sinewy muscles, tawny golden skin and blond hair, Keto knew his looks were above “human average.” Not that he was smug about it. All K’stal shifters were born pretty. They were gifted with good genetic traits; it was just too bad all of them were males. The photographer crawled out from the bush and followed his every move with the clicks of the rapid shutter. Keto let out a dominant roar—it reverberated through the vast savannah. A pack of gazelles crowding near the stream scattered away. She didn’t pause, however. She kept taking pictures. He had to give her credit. This woman wasn’t afraid of wild beasts. She was one brave chick. His brother, Cyeon, was also double-checking the photographer; he had recently taken a mate, so his interest in the new female was slight. Cute, but I like my Jen better, he said, using their mind-speak, releasing a half-yawn. Since Jen began living with them in their pride’s abode, Keto too had been eager to find a mate. The same with Jax. Cyeon and Jen couldn’t keep their hands off of each other, and had sex whenever they were within an arm’s length of each other. Their intimacy had made Keto and Jax frisky. It would be nice to find someone to share his bed. He was tired of lonely nights. Though, a new female was not easy to find; Keto didn’t like tourists. Most of them were loud and annoying. The locals were boring. And none of the expatriates caught his attention. But the photographer… Keto studied her. He could see her just fine from this distance. |
