This book is part of the Wicked Missions series but is a stand alone story. I enjoyed this book very much. Although the blurb may indicate otherwise, this is a sweet and tender story. Sure, there's lots of hot menage sex, a really nasty villain and a slave auction but the characters are real and believable. They're an interesting mix of strength and vulnerability. The backdrop of the story is a vividly described water planet and the author makes you feel as though you're there. Carter and Brandon's love for each other is obvious as is their hopes for Lyrianna. Lyrianna is strong and sure yet often doubts her sexual attractiveness. Her uncertainty is endearing. The menage encounters are steamy and will leave you wanting more. 4 STARS: "The fourth book in Elizabeth Raines' Wicked Missions series is Sold, the story of a woman who is unjustly sold against her will but who finds love regardless. Although linked loosely with previous titles in this series through some characters (or references to characters), this novella a complete story on its own. You do not need to have read any of the other stories to enjoy this one. I enjoyed Sold a bit more than I did the previous story, Bounty. I'm not sure if this is the result of Ms. Raines becoming more facile with her setting and characters or the development of her skill as a writer of erotic romance, but the characters are more interesting and well-developed, the setting is unique, and even the romance has a fuller bloom. Lyrianna's tale involved me on an emotional level, which is something I look for in a romance. The main characters in Sold are quite appealing, and while the main focus is on Lyrianna, Ms. Raines develops the heroes well enough to make us feel like we know them by the end. The emotional bond between the heroine and her heroes is very apparent; their mix of attraction, affection and lust is easily felt within the narrative. I didn't feel quite the same connection between the two men as I did between the men and Lyrianna, but other than that, I can't really fault the love scenes. They're pretty darned hot. My overall impression of Sold is a positive one. 4 STARS: "SOLD is a delightfully spicy M/M/F menage story set in a well-imagined sci-fi world. SOLD is book four of the Wicked Missions series and was so good I bought the first three books to catch up. Lyrianna is imprisoned for stealing vaccinations from an evil drug kingpin. Lyri is sold on the newly colonized ocean planet, Pagonna, to two water-pod farmers, Carter and Brandon. While Carter and Brandon may own Lyri, her heart must be won by the couple. Lyri is an interesting, realistic heroine. She believes in doing good in the universe, no matter the personal cost, which has gotten her both imprisoned and on the lam from an evil drug lord. Lyri shows courage in the face of her changing life and I enjoyed her spitfire personality. What I most liked about Lyri, though, was the graceful way she embraced her new life. I was worried at first that the author was going to make Lyri resist both the men and her new home just to keep tension in the story but that didn't happen. Lyri's growing acceptance of her new men and her new home was well developed and made the story a good one. The heroes, Carter and Brandon, were smokin' hot! I loved the fact that they were a committed couple before Lyri but being bi-sexual, they missed having a woman. Both men worked so hard to acclimate Lyri into their water world but more importantly, into their already developed relationship. The sexuality between the men and Lyri is both spicy and heartfelt. The only thing I would change is to make the men's emotional finale with Lyri be longer. The water-world of Pagonna is also well developed. I liked the slightly Old West feel to the world, complete with a trading post, settlers, and a festival. There is a secondary romance between another woman purchased by a settler that was a nice addition to the story as well. SOLD is a very good sci-fi menage story. This story induced me to buy the first three books in Ms Raines' Wicked Missions series and given how good SOLD was, I expect to enjoy them just as much." -- J9, The Romance Reviews

Carter Verdel sucked in air for a good five seconds when he saw her. As she turned to face the crowd, her smoky eyes settling on each of the male faces shouting their approval, he couldn’t breathe at all. One by one, the rowdy men quieted as her gaze settled on them.
