She arrives in Pearl, thinking she is going to help a friend’s aunt and ends up meeting Max and Eric Cantrell. The second book in The Town of Pearl series is actually a prequel to For the Love of Anna. Stacy’s Destiny tells Stacy’s story that happened before Anna arrived in Pearl. Stacy is being stalked by an obsessive man and the author tries to show the downside of reporting incidents when an investigator doesn’t care, as well as showing how some law enforcement agencies coordinate searches and investigations.The scenes between Stacy, Max, and Eric are so steamy, they burn the pages and you won’t want to put this book down. The journey that Stacy had coming to grips with a ménage relationship is telling because society doesn’t really accept these types of relationships, even though there seems to be more of them. Though these types of relationships are the norm in Pearl, I can just imagine the prejudice that they would have elsewhere and Ms. Dwyer did show a little of it in one scene. There were a few places that had some typos that jarred the flow of the story. I also wish the author had actually reversed the order of these two books, making Stacy’s Destiny the first one. "After an assault from a supervisor at work Stacy decides to leave her old life behind and run off to the town of Pearl, a place where one of her best friends has ties to. Stacy finds the town friendly and the people wonderful, almost like in a storybook. She also finds that many of those in the town have had unconventional relationships for years. In fact she meets brothers (Eric and Max) who in fact have more than one father. And these men seem to both be drawn to her. Stacy’s assault has made her wary of men but Eric and Max set out to show her that they are the right men for her. They are also very protective of her when danger seems to seek her out in Pearl. Stacy’s Destiny is a fast moving, action filled story about how one woman decides to take back her life, and finds love at the same time. I think Ms. Dwyer does a wonderful job in not only portraying how a stalking victim would act but how the men (yes men in this case) would react to her being threatened, if they truly care for her. While Stacy’s Destiny is the second in a series it can easily be read as a stand-alone, as I did. Though I should let you know, you will then want to go back and read the first offering and be impatiently waiting for the third. She tried taking a breath, but her chest felt tight, and her nerves were getting the best of her. Max touched her belly, and she jumped beneath his fingertips. He paused a moment, and a look of concern flashed across his face, but then he smiled. “You’re so soft, Stacy. “She is, and she’s all ours to explore,” Eric added, holding her gaze as his fingers caressed where Max’s just were. It caused a series of tiny vibrations to run beneath her skin.
