Charlotte tugged on the belt of her spring jacket then smoothed down the back again, just to reassure herself the fabric hadn’t flipped up. The trench coat style was more than warm enough for the mild day. Or it would have been, if she’d been wearing anything underneath.
Oh, she wore something. But could one really consider a black lace bra and matching thong to be anything of substance? Her bright red shoes though, those were plenty of substance. And they were just the right pop to stand out against the beige of her jacket.
Jeff wasn’t going to know what hit him.
Hell, she had no idea what had hit her.
How could she let herself get caught up in this fantasy enough to actually go through with it? She was practically naked. On a Marine Corps base. In a crowd.
The heels made me do it.
The heels. The red peep-toe stilettos. The ones that, when she’d been shopping for a sensible pair of flats, had whispered across the store, “Take me home. I’ll make your fantasies come true.”
She’d listened. And now here she was. One strong gust of wind away from baring her ass to an entire platoon of Marines and their families.
Nothing says “Welcome home, honey” quite like I got arrested by the MPs today for indecent exposure. Can you come bail me out of the brig?
“Ma’am.” A Marine walked by, nodded his head and touched the brim of his cover. He gave her a small smile. “Big day today.”
Her answer was a shaky smile back and a short wave, pushing down the rising panic.

“The busses are here!”
The shrill scream, and following thunder of voices and stomping feet, drowned out any mental mantras. She stayed back, despite the overwhelming urge to rush the incoming busses like a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert. She was just as anxious to see her Marine as anyone else. But the entire plan hinged on her standing back, hugging the brick wall that led to the side door of the battalion, keeping her post for the most strategic exit.
She watched, biting her lip as one Marine after another walked down the steps, as family after family was reunited. One girlfriend actually caught her Marine off balance, and they fell to the ground—her, him, and his rucksack—in a happy heap. Children squealed, women cried. It was actually a beautiful sight to watch from a distance.
But still, no sign of Jeff.
Then, finally, an answer to her silent prayer. She caught his face in the sea of desert camouflage. He stepped off the bus, eyes scanning the crowd for her. She pressed her legs together at the knees, trying to cut off the tingling sensation in her pussy. But instead of helping, she noticed the telltale slickness at the tops of her thighs.
