Inside the supermarket we sneaked like jungle fighters through the meat department and in to the soda pop section. The stacks were peered over and around. In the milk and egg section we tripped over a lady shopper. She screamed and threw an egg at us. It smacked Ralph’s forehead. Undaunted we wiped the egg from his face and pressed onward to the peanut gallery. Wolfgang and his gang were invisible.

“Private Ralph, I fail to detect them anywhere.”

“Hey!” Ralph sounded puzzled.

“Petey,” whispered Alice into my right ear. “I just saw a hand grab a Brussels’ Sprout.”
