He needed to remind himself he was only seeing because of the bet he made instead of how much he wanted to bed her. But she made him half crazed and in the end he couldn’t resist and after making love to her knows he wants her for the rest of his life.

“You actually mean you want to go to the Thompson’s ball?” James asked incredulously.
“No need to sound so surprised. I do go out some times you know.” Lonya was becoming peeved and tried to force her irritation down.
Curtis cleared his throat. “Don’t get upset Lonya. We don’t want to ruin your night. Shall we go?” He took Lonya’s arm and led her out of the parlour with his younger brother following.
It was silly to be annoyed. Besides, her cousins were going to be in for even a bigger surprise when they arrived at the ball. She had the maids working furiously all afternoon making over her gown and others.
There wasn’t enough time to have a new wardrobe made and she saw no point in it since she probably wouldn’t be wearing the gowns again after the month was over.
She settled in the coach and waited for her cousins to be seated. She couldn’t wait to start the game, she held all the aces and she was going to enjoy bringing two arrogant men to their knees.
To them it was nothing but a bet; they hadn’t given a thought to what might have transpired if she truly did develop feelings for the Earl. What would have happened then she wondered irritably. No, they were just too selfish overindulging men and thought of nothing else but their own pleasures.
