She waited, wished, and oh yeah, she wanted. Orlando knew it by the flush of skin and the goose bumps that materialized right behind each touch he meticulously planned.

He swallowed hard and moved his face away from hers. It took all the strength he had as a vampire silently calling upon the elders and all powers he knew as his own. He wanted nothing more than to kiss her, but if he did, he might want nothing more than to fuck her into another lifetime. The one he would share with her.

Obviously humiliated, she quickly regained her composure realizing the kiss she expected wasn’t delivered. She straightened her back and leaned over. “Well, that was um…”

“Interesting?” He finished the sentence for her.

“No. No, it was um…it was creative.” Her hand waved slightly downward patting the thin air with reasonable frustration.

“You think so?” he teased.

“Yes, I do.” Her words were curt.

“How was it creative?”

A giggle slipped from her lips. “Mr. Spenser, I can play games. I’m very good at them but I think you have something I want.” She studied him before continuing, “I am willing to bet I have something you want, but I’m sure each of our desires vary significantly.”

“Really? Why don’t you lose the Mister Spenser act and tell me something more about what it is you want.” His voice invited her to reveal her soul. She’s too smart for that. The inner utter kept his hopes in check.

“You’d like it if I told you, wouldn’t you? I suppose it feeds your ego.” Her words continued to show the disappointment her lips felt. He knew she’d fully expected a long, sensual kiss, and now her pouting seemed to get the best of her.

Feeds my ego? Orlando felt the growing throb that would remain unsatisfied. He would love nothing more than for her to feed him, but his ego wasn’t anything he was interested in pleasing. His body and his mind could feast on a woman like Natasha.

“Careful, Natasha, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re a bit mad. I thought you were a poker player.” He teased further.

“Oh, but I am.” She moved into him rapidly. “I like the unknown. I like to sit down with a full deck and play my heart out, but what I like most in playing poker is that element of surprise. The one that leaves everyone at the table to wonder what comes next.” Her eyes were on his lips. “So, what does come next?” Her voice oozed with natural sex appeal.
