Success After Darkness
Joey loves his wife Jasmine and his twins, Tammie and Tamala, but he is also frustrated because as much as he loves his family and God, he does not have the success that he wants so badly. Will his desire for success as a published author destroy everything he holds dear, or will he trust in God to bring him that which he most desires?
Joey was a handsome man with high cheekbones, bronze complexion, and dazzling hazel eyes. People often mistook him for Terrence Howard. A great family man, he loved his beautiful wife, Jasmine, and their two lovely twin daughters - at thirteen years old they’re already beginning to mature with curves like their mother. Joey’s heart skipped a beat as he watched his girls, Tammie and Tamala develop into young ladies.
He worked long hours as a chef and when he wasn’t working or spending time with his family he was writing a novels, short stories and poems. He had submitted several manuscripts to publishers hoping to receive a publishing contract. Every evening when he arrived home, after a hard days work, he was elated thinking about an offer that came in the mail or an e-mail requesting more information regarding one of his short stories, or an acceptance letter. But his anxiety was always to no avail.
Jasmine’s heart ached as she witnessed the pain of disappointment that/which erupted across her husband’s face as he read his rejection letter.
Jasmine was beautiful inside and out. When walking down the streets her hourglass shape turned many heads, women as well men. However, her only desires in life were to make sure that her family was well cared for and happy; she was a homemaker and spent her days making sure of that. To secure this she stayed on her knees praying and praising God. Lately, she saw just a drastic change in her husband, he seem to going in a down hill spiral.
