Wearily, he knocked on the big red door and waited, breath held. Minutes passed and Trevor began to think Skylar wouldn’t answer the door. But then he heard the snick of a deadbolt being moved back and the door opened.

Beautiful.

It was the only word that described the man who greeted him. Golden ringlets sat on his head like a crown, vivid blue eyes, plump, full red lips, and high cheekbones dusted with a touch of pink. He wore jeans slung low on his hips and a red T-shirt. Trevor noticed his feet were bare.

Skylar pursed his lips. “I didn’t think you were coming.”

He swallowed. “Yeah, I’m sorry. Can I come in?”

“Sure.” Skylar stepped back and let him into the condo.

It was one of those Spanish mission type places, all tiled floors and arches. Pretty and very clean. But the truth was he didn’t care if Skylar lived in a cave. He only had eyes for the man.

“I’m sorry I should have called,” Trevor said after Skylar had shut the door behind him.

“Yes, you should have.”

The man hadn’t cracked a smile since he opened the door and Trevor loved his smiles. Skylar’s smile was probably the most gorgeous part of him. But all he did was stare intently at Trevor, like he was expecting some sort of explanation. And of course he was.

“I was working. There was this murder.” He took a deep breath. “A lot of blood. I should have maybe called you to reschedule, but…I wanted to see you.” Trevor stepped close to Skylar. He smelled clean and fresh with a hint of coconut. Intoxicating. “Touch you.”

He looped his index fingers in the belt loops of Skylar’s jeans and tugged him close, flush against him, and before either of them could come up with an excuse as to why they shouldn’t, he covered Skylar’s lips with his own.

Skylar tasted of cherry candy, he realized, as his tongue slipped inside the other man’s mouth. His arms came around Trevor’s neck and he moaned into the kiss, pressing into Trevor.

“You taste like candy,” Trevor said, when they decided they had to stop to breath.

“I was eating a cherry lollipop,” Skylar admitted.

He laughed. “No wonder.” He stared into Skylar’s blue eyes, searching. “I want you. I want you now.”
