At thirty-five, Erin Sanders has resigned herself to a single, childless lifestyle. Then dynamic Tanner walks into her office and proposes that she pretend to date him in order to assess the mental well-being of Tessa, his orphaned niece. Erin falls hard and fast for the man. As an added bonus, she and the delightful Tessa come to adore each other. But like all things too good to be true, she discovers her perfect stud may be a perfectly deceptive dud.
"Tessa, I love you. No matter what happens with your uncle and me, you're important to me. We'll always be friends."
"I know that, but Uncle Tanner is in love with you." She gripped Erin's wrist in a surprisingly strong grasp and clasped a bracelet around it. "Just look at that and tell me he doesn't love you."
Erin glanced down to find a thick band encircling her wrist. It was designed in tri-color gold, with two large eternity loops clasping an identical smaller one.
"Don't you get it, Erin?" The girl impatiently clasped her hand again as she smoothed her finger over the large loops, then the smaller one. "You, and T, and me. See?"
