Author's Profile

Q: What inspired you to write your first erotic novel?

A: After reading my first romance novel my sister-in-law gave me three years ago. I couldn’t stop the obsession of reading about three books a week. I was hooked on romance novels. Then I discovered erotic novels and didn’t look back. One day I sat at the computer and said, “I can write this stuff, my mind is full of ideas on what to write.”

Q: What do your family and friends think about you writing erotic novels?

A: My husband is my biggest fan. My family and friends are so excited for me and they are all very supportive in everything I do.

Q: Are you married with children?

A: I am very happily married to a sexy and supportive husband. My daughters are very excited about their ‘Mommy the Author’.

Q: Are you a full-time writer?

A: I write in my spare time. I have a part-time job that allows me to be an at-home mommy when I am needed and when I’m not writing I like to read.

Q: Do you think your books help spice up the marriages for other readers?

A: I believe my books help spice up the bedroom. When I first started reading romance books, they had given me ideas and broadened my mind. I know my husband appreciated my new found knowledge in reading.

Q: What do you like to read in your spare time?

A: I love to read in my spare time when I’m not writing. I only read romance/erotic novels.

Q: How old are you?

A: I am turning forty in 2012. I feel younger and my husband says I look more beautiful now than when we got together twenty years ago. And our sex life has never been better.

Q: What are your favorite things to write about?

A: I enjoy writing about ménages. Although I have never participated in one and have no aspirations to do so, reading and writing about them excites me.

Q: Is Erika Reed your real name or is it a fictitious name you write under? And if so, how did you choose Erika Reed?

A: I write under Erika Reed. I chose Erika Reed because I like to read Erotic Reads.

Q: Who are your favorite authors?

A: I have a lot of authors I enjoy reading in my spare time. My ultimate choice in authors is Sophie Oak, Heather Rainier, Tymber Dalton, Maya Banks, Lora Leigh, Opal Carew and Lorelei James.

Q: What did you do when you got the email from Siren notifying you they wanted to publishyour first book?

A: Oh my goodness, my husband called me while I was shopping in Walgreen’s Drug Store to tell me we got an email from Siren Publishing. He read the email to me while I was in the store. As he read the beginning of the email, “Congratulations,” I lost it in the store and was screaming and crying. I was so happy! This is a huge accomplishment for me and I am excited to put my imagination to use in my future novels.
