Sierra Dafoe

Average Rating:
Sierra Dafoe first started publishing romance in 2006, receiving three CAPA nominations that year including Favorite Erotic Author -- a nomination she's received every year since! She has since gone on to earn numerous recommended reads and awards for her work, and can be found most days huddled over her laptop, working on her next story.

Sierra lives in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with her incredibly tolerant hubby, her fifteen-year-old puppy and one extremely bouncy new feline acquisition named Took who aspires to be the first romance-writing cat, judging from the amount of time she spends trying to commandeer Sierra's keyboard.

Q: Where do you get your ideas?

A: Elves. I get mine from elves. Like the Keebler Elves, only instead of living in a tree they live inside my head. And instead of making cookies they generate story ideas. Sometimes though if I'm really lucky, I get one dipped in chocolate. Seriously, I have no idea. The ideas just show up, and I'm grateful!

Q: What do you like best about being a writer?

A: The dress code. How many jobs can you go to in your pajamas? Hee! Everything, actually. I love everything about being a writer. I'm lucky enough to get paid for something I love doing, and to have other people enjoy it. When a reader tells me how much she loved a story, that's the best. There's nothing in the world better than that.

Q: If there was one place in the world you could visit, where would it be and why?

A: Oh, now that's just cruel. One? I only get to pick one? In that case, I'd visit a boat yard and buy a sailboat. And then I could go almost anywhere with a shore line. I know, that's cheating. This is part of why I write. It lets me visit all the places I can imagine.

Q: What feeds your muse?

A: Chocolate, of course. Tea, I love tea. English breakfast, Earl Gray, Darjeerling. I once had this wonderful Russian black tea with orange rinds in it. That stuff had more kick than an infuriated mule, I loved it.
Hiking. The sound of the wind. The ocean. I miss living in Maine, and the coast. Then again, I love the mountains. Luckily my muse is pretty adaptable!
