Such a fun series! I didn't buy this particular book at first but it turned out to be as great as the rest of them. We also get to visit with past characters which made it worth it alone! If you like this series the "Reality" series by Sophie Martin is a bit like it and also awesomely good.

Six adorable stars! This was just the very book I wanted to read. I get tired of all the over-six-foot tall macho heroes, and little Ran the wolf and Deakin the half-sprite were a perfect couple to start with and just get that much better with the addition of an intimidating "Avenger" as their third. This book was original, often quite funny, with interesting characters who all had a unique voice. I like the way the author writes, the narrators voice often speaks from the viewpoints of different characters and the sentences are beautifully formed. I really want to read more stories about the characters in this book. I'm going to check out the first one in the series right now!
