“Good morning.”

Leaning on the counter, his hand supporting his head, Evan Stewart pulled his attention up from his paper and damn near swallowed his tongue. He flicked his gaze from the tabloid up to the incredible statue before him and down again. Realizing who it was, Evan jerked upright and straightened his tie.

Sweet Jesus, have mercy.

He looked even more delectable in person.

The man had dark hair long enough to brush his broad shoulders, but he wore it back from his face and it accented his fierce, rakish features. High cheekbones gave his brown eyes a wicked gleam that had Evan’s heart beating faster as a hunger grew inside him. The sleeves of his button-up white shirt were rolled up to reveal golden arms and a beautiful gold Rolex. He had the buttons of his shirt undone enough to show off a modest display of coarse chest hair that Evan wanted to run his fingers through. His pants fit snug on his muscled legs and cupped the bulge between them perfectly.

Damn it. He gritted his teeth and cursed himself for noticing him this much, if at all. A tingle started at the base of his neck, and he reached up to rub at it. “Yes?” Evan cleared his throat when the word came out an octave higher than his normal speaking voice. “Can I help you?”

“I’m taking names.”

Evan frowned and glanced at the iPad in Bobby’s hands. “Names? For what?”

Bobby grinned and Evan forgot why he asked the question in the first place. That smile could melt the polar ice caps. It definitely had Evan feeling the heat.

“How did you get in here?”

He held up a shiny new key. Of course Bobby Duke would have a key to Kelley’s, just like he had a key to every elite attraction in Seattle. What in the hell was the matter with him? Not only was Bobby Duke not gay, but according to the front page of the Inquisitor gossip tabloid Evan loved to read, the sole heir to the Duke Empire had a different woman every week—and sometimes several in the same week.

With a sigh to release the images of what would never be, Evan reached into his inside pocket and pulled out one of his business cards. He hated his overwhelming reaction to someone like Bobby Duke. It was about as useful as the way Pebbles came on to Evan.

“That’s it?”

“Were you expecting more?”

“Hell, yeah. I ask for your name and you whip out a business card like I’m just some nobody.”

To Evan he had to be. Bobby Duke might be the object of his obsession, but it would never be more than that. In order to convince the erratic pulse that pumped blood into his throbbing balls, he had to treat Bobby with indifference.

“It’s got my name on it.”

Bobby glanced down at the business card in his massive hands. “Listen, Mr. Stewart. You aren’t making a very good first impression.”

Evan looked at him and wondered if the attraction crackling between them was only one-sided. The way Bobby kept stroking Evan with his intense gaze definitely made him wonder.

He dismissed it with a shake of his head and shifted so the bulge in his pants wasn’t too obvious. “I didn’t realize this was a test.”

“Everyone falls over themselves to impress me.”

Evan laughed. This guy was too much. It should have turned Evan off. Instead, it made him so goddamn hard he sucked in a breath. “Welcome to life in the real world, Mr. Duke. Not everyone falls to their knees at your feet.”

Bobby spiked a dark brow. “What a shame.”
