Another great book from Mya I didn't realize this was the follow-up on Lara’s last chance book in the series one more time when I bought it. Can’t fault her for this, It’s the publisher fault. Mya did a good job in researching the period and laws of the Ottoman Empire. This is a must-read for any fan of the historical; I literally couldn't put it down. Looking forward to read more books from MYa who genuinely knows how to write a beautiful story. Would not hesitate to recommend this book to others

Another great book from Mya larose! I didn't realize this was the follow-up on Lara’s last chance book in the series one more time when I bought it. I can’t fault the author for this hiccup. The publisher should have precise it. However, Mya writes in such a manner that you don't feel you're losing anything. Her writing style and how it barely comes across unforced and the emotions that it stirs up are intense. The scenes are so descriptive and vivid that it seems that I’m with the characters that I’m caught in their love, their anger and their sadness. I literally couldn't put it down. Ottoman empire, two male lovers, Salim and Drake, found each other despite being condemned to death if ever found out. Mya did a really neat task in researching around the period and laws in the Ottoman Empire. The heroine, Anya is described being beautiful inside and out. Here again Mya describes the dangers and hard life of the women in the Ottoman Empire. She takes you right in the era. The sex scenes are hot, hot, and hot. She never disappoints #wink This is a must-read for any fan of the historical, Ottoman Empire, and ménage adventures in particular. I look forward to read more books from this author who genuinely knows how to narrate a scorching as well as beautiful story and write with a lot of heart. Thank you again for this truly awesome book!

I really wanted to like this book b/c the stoy seemed like it would be different and interesting. Unfortunately I could barely get thru it. First of all, the EXCLAMATIONS!!!! To say it was overused would be an understatement. Every few sentences had wildly misplaced exclamation marks. I felt like all the characters were constantly shouting. I seriously had to put the book down a few times, it got so annoying and distracting. Other issues: 2). The book is labeled as the 1st in the Kismet series, but it appears some of the characters (Suleman and Lara) had their own book in a different series (which I've not read). It made me wonder if the main charcters in this book (Anya, Salim, Drake) were introduced in that other series. I wonder because by the 2nd chapter, Salim proposes and marries Anya. Um, nice way to kill all romantic suspense. It seemed ridiculously rushed. Maybe the author thought we were familiar with them already? 3) The inclusion of 20th and 21st century phrases in what is supposed to be a historical book. Very jarring. 4). The fact that Salim and Drake kept talking about the need to keep their relationship a secret but EVERYONE in the house basically they knew they were lovers. Well all except the villains (RME). That was pretty unbelievable. I feel like I could go on, but you get the gist. But I also have to call out whomever edited this book. The exclamations, the grammar and use of current terms in a historical make me think no one edited this at all. I mean, the overuse of exclamations started within the first 3 pages. How did NO editor see this? I feel badly for the author that she apparently got zero help or guidance from the editor. Very disappointing. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this book at all.
