“Did either of you think I might like to be included in the plan?”

“You are the plan, sweetheart,” Noah said with a smile. “I’m the crimp in it Jack’s trying to work out.”

“Again, why?”

“Because after thinking about nothing else for months, I find I can’t just let you go. If it means having Noah with us occasionally, I figured I owed it to both of us to try it without just walking away.”

“Noah, what are your thoughts here?”

He slid a plastic key card across the table toward her. “I’m going to my room, number four seventeen. Why don’t you two talk this through and let me know what you decide.” He hesitated, finished the coffee in his cup, and added, “By the way, Jack knows I wouldn’t be a permanent fixture here, just a visitor a few times a year for fun and games if that’s what you decide you want.” He stood, leaned over, and kissed Winn on the cheek. “I’ll see you in a bit.”

Jack and Winn were quiet while he left the restaurant, both of them watching Noah leave. Before she could speak, Jack cleared his throat.

“Look, I’m not trying to orchestrate things here, but that must be how it looks to you. I understand you have needs and wants. I have to decide how many of them I can fulfill and if I can live with an occasional visit from your friend.”

“What if I said I only wanted you and that I’d give up Noah?”

“I’d say that’s fine, but I understand to keep you truly happy here it might include another man on occasion. I’d rather import Noah occasionally than start with a new man.” His lips started to curl into a smile, but he pulled it back.

“You mean someone you might run into here, someone who would find out my demented secret. That your girlfriend needs two men to fuck her to be happy.”

“Put that way it’s a little tawdry, but it’s accurate. If you and I have a future, I have to accept Noah occasionally. I also have to decide if I can go through with this. I’ve always been a one-woman man. I’ve never considered sharing my woman.”

“That was what Noah and I decided on the phone.” He hesitated and dropped a few bills on the table to pay for the coffee, finally reaching to take her hand a second time.

“Is there a gift shop here? I don’t have any condoms on me?”

“I took care of that,” he said, again with his cheeks heating.

“Just between the three of us, Jack, nothing that happens in that room will ever go any further. I trust Noah and I trust you. You made this major arrangement, now let’s test it.”
