I have enjoyed reading this series, but it is becoming stale. It seems as if there is little difference from one book to the other. The same events are occurring over and over but to different couples. The only real difference seems to be the characters' personal backstories. I would like to see something different happen, some major shake up that begins a change in their society.

At best I would say that this book was just okay. I love Dixie Lynn Dwyer's books normally and was sadly disappointed int this one. The writing seemed stilted to me which made it very hard for me to get into the story. The villain of the story was easy to discern from the introduction of the character. There were some other plot issues, but I won't pick the story to death.

I haven't been able to finish this book. The writing is stilted and the constant use of the heroine's name (even when she is the only person in the scene) is very distracting. I find myself focusing more on that then the actual storyline. There is a lot of potential for the story but I just can't get into it.

***SPOILER*** The story had the potential to be a good read, but fell flat. I had two major issues with this book. There were events in the book that didn't mesh with each other (I.e. the the destruction of her home and the threat to her life. When she is taken, it wasn't with the express interest in killing he (although they might have eventually done so). The other issue I had was the writing itself. It is an issue I had with one of her first books but thought maybe wouldn't be a problem this time based on the excerpt. Within the first chapter the heroine's name is mention 25 times. Most of the paragraphs begin with her name and she is the only woman talked about in the first chapter. The constant use of her name makes the writing seem stilted and can be very distracting. There also seemed to be an abundance of unnecessary explanations, either because they could have been inferred by the reader or because it had already been explained (sometimes in the same paragraph.
