JC Holly knows how to spin a yarn, crank up the heat, and still keep readers entertained. Ethan and Conor are very likable heroes who manage to find trouble, and each other. The characters' alternating perspectives on their shared situation adds nice depth to the story, which is well thought-out and well paced. With a seasoned, tough-as-nails werewolf and a just-outed young man with a slightly submissive side, but with plenty of his own fortitude, you can be sure there are fireworks when the two finally take that next step. Vastly entertaining, with memorable characters, and just a dash of wry humor, Pack Rules is a good, solid read for any day.
