If you like action-packed tales from the old west, mixed with a fine blend of humor, romance, and red-hot menage sex you can't go wrong with this book. The story weaves its' magic around you bringing the characters to life as you sit back and root for the heroine to find true love. I've set my account to notify me of future releases by Reece Butler.

I read this series out of order, but that didn't take anything away from this book. it was just as awesome as the others in the series. Each story can stand alone, but each makes you want to know more about the characters in their own stories.

I actually liked the storyline and I liked the characters. What bothered me was the way the menage was handled. It wasn't so much a equal partnership between the men as much as it was the husband helping his brother's. Just different from most menage's. Definitely had a pecking order.

I have loved this book. I have reread it several times. The characters are interesting, the sex hot, and the love deep. Worth every penny.

Not as good as I thought it would be, but still good. It's saving grace is the steamy sex. It's a bit confusing to keep all the secondary characters and their lives straight, especially since you know she is setting up the next few books (second one already published as I write this). I think this should have been done in the books pertaining to the secondary characters, not throwing in a lot of extra info not needed in this book.

Wow, Reece is becoming my new favourite author! I have not been a fan of westerns or the cowboy thing, but now I am. Reece has a great use of humour and the sexual journey to bring the western town and farm to life in a unique way. Peak into a world where women meet real alpha men who want to protect and pleasure them because they care and eventually learn to love.

This was the first book I had read by Ms. Butler, but I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to her other books, specifically, A Contract Bride's Triple Surprise. She is a talented author with a knack to tell a good story.

There are a lot of great historical romances set in the Old West but there are few that are as well written and researched as this book and the following novels in the series that tell the stories of women who boarded the Bride Train that became a part of the post Civil War period and which took women to men in the West for arranged marriages. As in this woman's case, it was often an opportunity to run away from an abusive fiance or a marriage that was to a man three times the woman's age, or perhaps it was just to have a husband. With the carnage of the Civil War, men were at a premium, especially back East. Only in this lady's case, she literally jumped " . . . out of the frying pan into the fire." Upon arrival at her destination, her situation was quite different than what she expected and because of a ruckus in which she was involved, fighting to protect her virtue, she lands in the jail. The sheriff doesn't want her to marry the town bully, and against his better judgment, matches her up with a local rancher who was a bit of a non-conformist. The story really gets interesting from here on. Needless to say, both the heroine and the reader are in for some interesting developments. Just a really good read, very erotic with multiple partners--brothers and others--and yet all in the context of some genuine respect and caring. This author has done it again . . . given the readers a very satisfying read.

I loved the whole book! The start was a surprise for me, I very much enjoyed Trace's pov of the jail scene. I wanted more to happen to Charlie. The wedding and wedding night were some of the best I have read. His time with Mrs Lily was very sweet. The flowers were so wonderful and Beth's thoughts and fears were spot on. The brothers were so funny and a great break from Trace's more serious side. I loved the ending and wish there was more much more. I could see many many more stories. Hope for more Bride Train soon! - meg

Great start to this Montana based series. This is my first Reece Butler and I am delighted to discover her work. Barefoot Bride has tantalizing erotic scenes with a genuine plot. While not terrible unique this plot is woven in with the menage and I found it to be very, very good. Best of all Mrs. Butler's characters are real. I can picture each of them vividly and this makes the book extra special.
