Reviews for Chloe's New Beginning (MFM)

Ms White says in her dedication she wrote the first chapter crying. Well, I read it crying. It takes a lot for me to cry while reading a work of fiction (the last book to do that was the fourth in the Flower in the Attic series) and so when I started crying like a baby with Chloe's New Beginning, I thought "Yeah, this is gonna be fantastic." And it was until Chloe met Adam and Brandon. Chloe's grief over the death of her husband, Connor, was very real and heartfelt - I could feel her pain - but then as soon as she meets Connor's brothers Adam and Brandon, she jumps straight into a sexual relationship with them. This annoyed me somewhat and personally I think it could have been handled better by adding more words and scenes to show a smoother transition from Chloe's grief, to her friendship with Adam and Brandon, and then finally to her love for them. Something else that kept me from giving this book a 5 was at the end when Chloe's sister Katie was kidnapped by Adam and Brandon's cousins because she was their mate. At first Chloe was shocked and angry, and I thought this will take a lot of grovelling on Adam and Brandon's part to gain Chloe's forgiveness. However, I was left frustrated and disappointed with her lack of backbone in not questioning their rather flimsy "she's their mate" excuses. Polar bears or not, I really wanted Chloe to kick their butts out of Alaska! Despite the above though, I still intend on reading Katie's Mates.

I am an Alicia White Fan! Chloe's New Beginning did not disappoint. I love her attention to detail and the riveting on the edge of your seat passion that she pours into every scene. Dramatic, passionate, sensual - everything a great romance novels deserves is served up in Chloe. A must buy and read!
