Nothing please me more than finding a pleasant surprise when I am reading this brand. The many titles in the "Lynn Hagen" authorverse vary by wide margins, from quality in editing to depth in storytelling and character building. If you read a lot of these books like I do (and by that I mean every single one) you might agree there can be major levels of difference among the titles and series. Blue Moon falls on that spectrum as interesting, creative and entertaining. I wouldn't mind reading more stories about this world and these characters.

4.5 stars First time I have read anything by Sophie Martin. I read a lot of MM paranormal and other MM stuff. I buy a ton of Siren books but I have my favorite authors and I am always a little gun shy about purchasing from a new author without a compelling reason. I have had a few let downs with some very sub-par writing when I bought new to me authors. But I took a chance with this one and I was glad I did! I enjoyed it enough to purchase the next one in the series. Overall it's pretty well written. I think if I could criticize anything it would be the author's use of modern day slang terms. That pulled me out of the story from time to time, but it also made it relatable, so I gave myself permission to not let that bug me. I liked the creativity and I liked the characters very much. It's a bit of a reach that a character in this setting would say some of the things she wrote but hey, it's fantasy so why not?

This is the second book in the series. One of the great things about a series is once you get through the initial world-building and character introductions the author can build upon your familiarity with it. Jax and Will have a "reunion" love story, it's a second chance for them to find romance. This my favorite sort of romance, and so I was looking forward to this book. There wasn't much angst about it all. I think I would have liked a bit more of Jax having to earn back Will. My biggest issue continues to be typos and poor editing/proofreading. I found more than one example of correctly spelled words (so someone did use spell-check) but not the right word for the sentence. The worst is when it's one of the character's names! Ugh--someone should be reading these before they go to press, just sayin'. I will buy the next one in the series because I did enjoy it and I am looking forward to reading about the other brothers finding their mates!
