I really liked this. Cayson was adorable in his confusion about what was going on, though there are a few times he gets annoying. Lachlan obviously has a good heart, but again has his annoying traits that really grate on the nerves at times. All in all the story flows nicely, balancing the romance with the crime mystery back drop. A few places had me confused about who was doing what, but it wasn't distracting enough to stop reading. Despite my few grievances it was a good read and I'm thinking about starting from the beginning of the series (yes I read this one first before any of the others). I recommend it to anyone interested in a quick, fun read.

E.A. Reynolds brings the story to life of the conflict and almost destruction of a whole group of panthers. This is awesome story and unable to wait to see what happens in the next book. Jamar is working towards becoming a partner with his company. One of his boss Jordan is demanding, but when Jamar gets close to him. He wants to submit to him. Jordan knows that Jamar is his mate, but he see that Jamar has a crush on Mendes, so he waits. The battle between the black panther and King is getting closer to the truth. The den is being split with some of the panthers side with King and they are betraying the other panthers. Jamar is finally ready to show his feeling for his mate Jordan. What will the black panthers do now? What will happen with the loss of a mated couple? OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK E.A. Reynolds brings the story to life of the conflict and almost destruction of a whole group of panthers. This is awesome story and unable to wait to see what happens in the next book.

This is my first time reading a book from E.A. Reynolds. I just love a new shifter series. Keenan for awhile has had a major crush on Dalton. When Keenan is given the account to manage the Cactus District project and he will be working closely with Dalton. Keenan witness the murder of his friend Terry. Before Terry dies tells him that his father has found out something that could destroy everything, if a war is started. Dalton must protect his mate Keenan, while giving him time to get use to him being around. With all the attack happens against the Den, Keenan moves in with Dalton. What Keenan finds out about himself and what can start a full out war? Who will he trust to tell and how will he handle it. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book. The reason for a 4 hearts, is that the story was sometime hard to follow, the characters had no background and how they all fit in sometime was confusing. OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK This book was off to a great start for the series, hopefully in the next book. The characters will explain a little better.
