As a continuation of the "Bride Train series," this third novel explores the experiences of a woman who has been polished by the efforts of an Eastern finishing school and who has now returned to her home thinking she will resume her life as a Western rancher. Her brothers are not willing to allow her to assume any leadership in their ranching enterprise and convince her that she must prove herself by posing as a young ranch hand in the service of three British aristocrats who have won a ranch in a poker game. These three are truly "dumber than dirt" when it comes to ranching, and Jessie knows it all. Thinking she is a young teen, they are reluctant to accept her direction, but as time goes on, they begin to understand that she really knows whereof she speaks, and their ranching enterprise begins to flourish. It is only when they discover that she is a fully grown woman that their menage relationship begins and Jessie discovers her own need for love and acceptance as a woman. This is compelling story and one that will not only entertain but will also massage the libido. It is a very erotic story and while there are some really hot love scenes between the characters, the loving never overtakes the story. All these people are seeking to find their niche in life--the aristocrats are all second or third sons and thus have no expectations financially or socially, and must make their own way in life. Jessie discovers that her expectations are unrealistic and she, too, must find a new "place" to settle, not only the issue of using her ranching knowledge and skills, but her emotional relationships as a woman. This is one of those novels that keeps you riveted to each page and I, for one, was sorry to see the story end. I love this series, not only as romantic fiction, but because it is so well researched and set in a part of American history that is not well known to most readers. It is an all-around fine book and one I am delighted to have read.

Like the first novel in this series, this story uses as its historical context the reality of the Brides Trains that became a part of the post Civil War years in America when women back East were having difficulty finding a husband and men in the West were finding women to be very scarce. This story highlights the experience of a woman whose sister has died leaving an infant daughter and who has asked her sister to come West to marry the gentle younger brother to her husband. This Amelia agrees to do but finds she is married to a different brother and it appears that her life is once again out of her control. Counsel from her neighbor who has lived with similar circumstances--multiple husbands--begins to encourage Amelia to move forward with a more positive attitude. This is a beautiful love story about people who really want a relationship full of genuine loving and a respectful, kindly way of interacting with people who share goals for the future. And when a common enemy rears his head, it will take their togetherness and common bonds that are forged in love to defeat the attack on their way of life. Just a splendid read and one that will greatly please fans of American historical romance.

Love series of ebooks. Reece Butler is one of my fav authors and I will always purchase all written. Great characters, plot, love scenes, keep writing please. I love that the cowboys have finally been included in the erotic romance world in the past few years.

What can I say, but.....BUY THIS BOOK! If you have read the previous two, you need this one!! If you have NOT, get the first two. You will NOT be sorry! I so love the fact that Ms Butler takes the time to research her settings to get things historically correct. It makes things flow. I have the first two books, and love them just as much as this one. The setting, the characters, the mystery/intrigue, the animosity and the love just grab you and keep your interest until the last page is turned. With there being a back burner type mystery going on, throughout the series, with no closure yet, you KNOW more are on the way and I for one am SO happy! Reece Butler write menage stories. She writes HOT menage stories! I have read some that are just not worth it. Hers are. Reece Butler's stories are a pre-buy for me. No question!! Ms Butler, you have a WINNER!!!

Once again the characters were strong and well written but I would have enjoyed more as a straight romance. The inequality of the menage just didn't ring true, especially, since the other men are like second and third choice for the woman. Seems to me it would be a menage until they found someone just for them.

I actually liked the storyline and I liked the characters. What bothered me was the way the menage was handled. It wasn't so much a equal partnership between the men as much as it was the husband helping his brother's. Just different from most menage's. Definitely had a pecking order.

Great start to this Montana based series. This is my first Reece Butler and I am delighted to discover her work. Barefoot Bride has tantalizing erotic scenes with a genuine plot. While not terrible unique this plot is woven in with the menage and I found it to be very, very good. Best of all Mrs. Butler's characters are real. I can picture each of them vividly and this makes the book extra special.

I didn't read the prequel to this story (Cowboy Sandwich) but as it is a standalone I didn't feel as if I missed anything. Though implausible, the plot was good with a fair amount of character development. This is my first Reece Butler book so it could be the author's writing style but sometimes scenes didn't quite flow, as if sentences linking the sequences of events were missing. I've been into erotic romances for a while and this is the first one I've read with girl-on-girl action. I don't much care for it but it wasn't excessive so it didn't ruin the storyline for me. Overall it was good.

This was the first book I had read by Ms. Butler, but I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to her other books, specifically, A Contract Bride's Triple Surprise. She is a talented author with a knack to tell a good story.

Wow, Reece is becoming my new favourite author! I have not been a fan of westerns or the cowboy thing, but now I am. Reece has a great use of humour and the sexual journey to bring the western town and farm to life in a unique way. Peak into a world where women meet real alpha men who want to protect and pleasure them because they care and eventually learn to love.

Just finished this one and was only disappointed by the fact that the next one in the series hasn't been published yet by Reece Butler. I find this an unusual treat as it combines a good story with a sexual journey, and what is life if not a journey. I find myself wondering which characters in this instalment I will find entertaining me in the next, and am impatient for the answer. The characters are real, in the sense of not being physically or emotionally perfect which we can all relate to. I felt berefit when it finished and find myself pineing for a cowboy or three, even though I find few menage stories believable, I loved this one.
