The Therrai healers are summoned to try to heal Captain Jisten, who was nearly killed in the battle with the chaos mage. But the Therrai aren’t the only ones who come through the portal from Okyro, and S’Avetina, High Priest S’Rak’s wife, is less than pleased by recent events. Will Rak’s dignity, and the king’s pride, survive the ire of the powerful mage? Or will the agreement to allow Rak’s son to become Prince Jethain’s heir be cast aside, renewing the political turmoil within the Koilathan palace? As Jisten slowly mends, S’Rak is also faced with a choice of either telling the captain the truth about the kironi magic or denying the baby and the captain what they need.

Rak looked up to see his two men enter, clearly in one accord. He set his pen down, grateful for yet another excuse to procrastinate writing the report.

Jisten came up behind him and stroked his wings. “S’Raaak, I need your help with S’Tyll,” he whispered loudly in his ear, tickling it marvelously.

Rak’s wings unfurled under Jisten’s hands and he leaned his head back to look up at the captain. “And what help would that be? Is he being stubborn?”

“Sooo stubborn,” Jisten breathed in his ear. “If he retires, he can stay here with ussss.” The sibilants tickled Rak’s ear as Jisten stroked the unfurled wing further out.

“Jisten seeks to convince me of the merits of retirement,” said Tyll with a wicked grin.

Jisten slid his hand downs the back of Rak’s pants. “But I can’t do it alone.”

Rak’s eyes sparkled. “There are many methods of persuasion. How many do you think we can try today?”

“I’ll keep count,” Jisten promised.

Rak stood up, completely abandoning the report. He told himself that was why S’Ioli had been sent. He pulled Jisten and Tyll into the bedroom.

Jisten dared a quick caress of Tyll’s rear.

Tyll leaned over and kissed Jisten’s cheek.

Rak stripped naked before they got halfway from the bedroom door to the bed.

Jisten grinned shyly then jumped on the bed. “I can’t remove my clothes! My hands mysteriously can’t undo the fastenings!” He waved limp hands around.

“Oh, no! What a disaster!” laughed Tyll. “Come, Rak, let us assist this poor man!”

Clothing was removed with much application of tongue to bared skin.

“Why look, my hands work again!” Jisten tickled Rak.

Rak nearly levitated off the bed with a shriek of surprised laughter. His wings flapped, which was clearly the point, given the way Jisten watched them and then stroked them when they slowed.

Rak retaliated for the tickling by licking Jisten’s manhood very, very thoroughly. Jisten shivered and his hips bucked, so Rak grabbed them to hold them still so he could work.

Tyll mouthed one of Jisten’s nipples then slid up, still kissing, until he reached an ear. He whispered something Rak didn’t catch.

Jisten shivered and leaned his head toward Tyll with a barely perceptible nod.

Rak swallowed the head of Jisten’s cock as Tyll continued to whisper into the Valer’s ear. He was sure it was about him, probably some plan for how they’d take him. Rak was looking forward to the surprise.

Jisten turned his head and kissed Tyll, quick and shy.

Tyll grinned, winked and hauled Rak up, into his arms, and caressed him until Rak was squirming and panting with lust.

Jisten stroked the sensitive underside of the wings.

Rak shrieked in pleasure.

Startled, Tyll looked over Rak’s shoulder. “What did you do? Show me!”

Jisten looked hunted. “I had to listen to Asfalea talk about sex for hours,” he waffled.

“More,” moaned Rak. They were in the middle of sex, and his men wanted to stop and chat?
