Eros and Adonis are immortal gods, destined to be on this planet together for all time. The only problem is that they hate and love one another. Trapped on a mission together by Zeus and Hades, the two are forced to work together to defeat a mysterious evil force that threatens every realm in Greece.

Eros has long felt he has not been taken seriously by the other gods due to his nature and his tendency to focus on passion over ruling. Now, he must prove himself capable and dutiful with a constant distraction, the beautiful Adonis. A man he has never forgiven for leaving him for no apparent reason.

Adonis died once long ago. He has secured immortality and ran from commitment, including fleeing from Eros, the man he loves the most. Commanded to work next to him, Adonis must decide if running from relationships for fleeting casual fun is truly what he wants. Can the two defeat a lethal enemy and discover if love remains after countless years of complications?

Adonis was still sexy. The brief hope he had that Adonis had become hideous and Eros would feel nothing for him vanished.

“Ares, do something to make that man hideous,” Eros ordered, glaring at Adonis.

“There is nothing anyone could do to accomplish that.” Ares chuckled, smirking.

Eros was not sure if Ares was laughing at the uncomfortable situation, the dead bodies, or Eros's pain. Perhaps it was all three.

“This is Ares; you know him. You two relate to doing vicious things to innocent people,” Eros said, introducing Adonis to Ares again.

The two glared at one another, neither saying anything. This made Eros smile. He was not the only one who was miserable.

“This is Elysios, my friend and sexual companion,” Eros continued, beaming at his friend.

There was an uncomfortable glance at Elysios from Adonis and Achilles before both greeted him kindly. Elysios’s training as a sex worker made him adept at disarming the awkward.

“I suspect I am meant to provide Eros emotional support. I am warning you all, I will be useless on this mission,” Elysios laughed, causing Achilles to grin.

Adonis nodded, his lips not moving. His eyes drifted to the man beside him, whom, in truth, Eros had hardly met. The man had merely introduced himself and led them to the beach.

“This is my beloved, Patroclus. We have been friends since childhood and lovers for decades. Oracles from Zeus and Hades insisted we join this mission; even the fated sisters said it was imperative. We are nervous,” Achilles admitted, nodding to his lover before kissing Patroclus.

“It is a pleasure. I’ve heard such stories. I know this is odd, but I’m certain we can put the past behind us and do what must be done. I advise starting with Agamemnon and the Achaeans. They are allies of Achilles. We will receive a warmer welcome than if we talk to the Trojans,” Patroclus suggested, his tone gentle.

Patroclus was handsome, and there was a wisdom in his gray eyes that was alluring. His dark skin contrasted with his purple robes, and his black hair was cut short and styled. He had a defined jawline. Achilles, with his more muscular body, taller frame, and green eyes, was dependent on the man. He looked at him as if it were Patroclus who caused the sun to rise.

“Brilliant,” Achilles agreed.

Ares nodded while Adonis grinned at Patroclus, causing Eros to glare at Adonis. Adonis disliked everyone save for some of the immortals in Hades’ realm. He didn’t even talk to others outside the realm often.

“Let’s go. Adonis, tell me everything about your life. Patroclus is right, we should settle things,” Eros lied, daring Adonis to show him he was willing to be vulnerable with him.

Adonis stuttered and flushed but said nothing.
