Michael is a massage therapist faced with the prospect of offering extras to his clients. When he discovers his boyfriend had an affair during a vacation, Michael begins to reassess his outlook on life, love, and business.
With the help of a friend, Michael starts advertising his business in a gay magazine. As the clients flood in, Michael realizes maybe happy endings are just what he, his clients, and even his relationship need.
Michael was sitting in the easy chair in the sitting room with a drink in his hand, looking at the gay magazine Nick had been looking at earlier, when Brad came into the sitting room and sat on the couch opposite Michael.
“What are you doing, Mike?”
“Just looking at these guys in the mag.”
“You mean the well-hung ones,” said Brad, trying to ease the tension.
“Yes. Brad, I was very disappointed in you tonight.”
“Giving the client a blow job.”
“You heard what he said, that he wanted it, and I was always under the impression that the customer is always right and gets what he wants.”
“Maybe in your business, but not here. I don’t like it. Besides, if you feel that you want to give anyone a blow job, I’m part of your life, so give it to me. It just makes massaging so unprofessional.”
“Oh, you mean like those guys in the magazine? I take it their massaging is unprofessional? Are you thinking of advertising in this section like they do?”
Michael hesitated before answering Brad’s question. “It did cross my mind when I saw you and Paulo.”
“How do you mean?” asked Brad.
“You know, the sex side of it.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, you look at these guys here. They’re only advertising sex. Everyone’s hung like a horse, and it’s the picture that’s attracting their clients. They’re actually not interested in the massaging side of it at all,” continued Michael.
“So, you can do that. You’re not small by any means,” suggested Brad.
“Brad, that’s not the point.”
“What is the point then?”
“I make a certain amount of money doing what I do professionally, but I suppose that if I advertised like these guys and offered what they did, I’d double my income. I feel I don’t need the sex side to massaging. I’d rather get pleasure from helping others.”
“But why don’t you try it?” asked Brad.
“It’s pride. I have pride in what I do.”
“You just don’t want to be called a slut, if you gave extras to your clients.”
Michael smiled. “I suppose it’s that to some extent, but I think I have other things to offer, other than sex.”
“You mean like your psychic skills?”
“That and my ability to communicate with the clients to get them to open up about their problems. It’s more a spiritual thing. It actually gives me a lot of pleasure to know I can help others. Tell me, if you had to do full-time massaging, would you offer extras?”
“I suppose it would depend on the guy I was massaging.”
“You mean whether he was good-looking enough.”
“And if he had the right size equipment.” Brad patted the couch seat beside him, indicating for Michael to join him on the couch.
Michael rose from the easy chair and moved to sit next to Brad. “God, you’re such a size queen. But would you do it with them knowing you were in a relationship with someone?”
Brad hesitated as he thought about Michael’s question. “I don’t know.”
“Well, you didn’t seem to have much trouble with Paulo.”
“But you heard him; he said he wanted it.”
“I’ve had clients who’ve asked me to give them extras, and I’ve refused. Why didn’t you?”
“I don’t know. I suppose I just liked what I saw.”
