Michelle owns a restaurant, Tori’s, that’s been in the family for sixty years. She’s wanted it since she was little, but now that she has it, she’s unsure if she’ll be able to handle running it. She wants to make her father and grandma proud, but also fulfill her dream of becoming the head chef of Tori’s.
To help keep things running smoothly so she can start working on fulfilling her dream, she hires Morgan as a manager. Yet as she’s trying to run the place, she finds herself falling in love with Morgan. Will she be able to keep up with the restaurant's legacy and gain the courage to ask out Morgan?
Morgan
When Sunday arrived, Morgan spent most of the day making sure her place looked as nice as possible. She worried Michelle wouldn’t like the couple of comedy movies she picked out.
She wouldn’t let her nerves get the best of her; she was excited to hang out with Michelle. She was still too scared to ask for an actual date, but she was just happy to hang out with her outside of work.
Morgan checked the time then sat on her couch. She tried reading a book for an hour to kill time, but she struggled trying to concentrate. She kept having to reread pages but managed to read a few chapters before she heard a knock on the door.
She almost forgot to put the bookmark in her book before setting it down. Morgan happily went to her front door and answered, “Hey!”
Michelle grinned. “Hey! I got the pizza.”
Morgan moved so Michelle could walk in. Michelle followed Morgan to the living room then set the pizza box on the coffee table and a couple of cans of pop.
Morgan put on the movie and the two ate and instead of watching the TV, they just talked. They even turned the volume lower just to hear each other better at one point.
They talked about the restaurant, then what they do for fun, then favorite foods, and what pets they want. Morgan introduced Michelle to her cat, Marshal. They then realized the movie was over, so they put on the next one, but just talked through it too.

Michelle
After the second movie, she stayed a bit longer, wanting to hang out more. When they realized it was getting close to midnight, she finally got up. Morgan walked her to the door and said bye. When Michelle was driving home, she was telling herself she should’ve kissed her. It was once she pulled into her driveway she stopped and realized what she’d been thinking.
She wanted to kiss Morgan. Did she love Morgan? Or at the very least have a crush on her? She sat in her car for a few minutes simply trying to think about it and found herself getting more and more flustered.
Michelle did like Morgan. She didn’t even realize she did. And now she wanted nothing more than to tell her, but how? She barely dated, only having once for a day in high school for a dance. She’d always been worried about the restaurant, so she’d barely thought about dating before.
“Fuck.” Michelle rubbed her face and leaned back in her seat.
Think about it. That’s what she decided.
Maybe she was just in her head and she didn’t want to rush into something. Especially if it ended up only being a small crush that she gets over after a little bit.
Plus, she only just met Morgan. She wanted to get to know her more.
She’d wait a month and get to know her more before she decided if she would ask her out or not.
