Des had led a life of sacrifice, forsaking love to raise his orphaned niece, and he never regretted it for one moment. Then one Christmas, his sixteen year old niece Kelsey decides she wants a real Christmas tree. When Kelsey encounters her teenage crush, the handsome Victor Moore, who plays a vampire in her favorite television series, she gets very excited. But Kelsey isn’t the only one who is excited by Victor Moore.
Kelsey’s Present is a heartwarming tale about family love, love at first sight, and the wonder of holiday magic.
When the doorbell rang, I walked to the door and was surprised to see Victor Moore standing there.
He held out a bottle of wine with a big red bow wrapped around it. "For us, later," he said.
I opened my mouth, closed it again, told myself to try not to sound like an idiot. "Come in. You didn't have to…"
"I wanted to. Am I the first one here?"
"Yes, actually." I took the bottle from him. "Thanks."
"My pleasure. I didn't want to look too eager." He grinned. "Guess I flubbed that one, eh?"
I was holding his coat in my hand, a little awestruck by how damn hot he was. He wore a pair of blue jeans, probably designer. They fit him like a glove. A simple red shirt topped off the jeans, open at the neck. I busied myself in the closet. "The others will be coming soon," I announced as I turned around. "Like I said, it's not very exciting, just a bunch of kids trimming a tree."
He took off his boots. "You're going to be here, right?"
"Yeah."
"Well, then it will be exciting." He met my gaze.
I just stood there, then I smiled again uncertainly and cleared my throat. "Yeah, well. It was nice of you to come."
"I haven't done that yet."
