Charlee Holmes’s love for books, as well as her imagination, began at an early age. Always looking for a story, she loves to travel the back roads, studying local history.
On most days you can find her pecking away on her computer keyboard as she spins tales about cowboys and the women they fall in love with.
With each new story Charlee begins, she feels the characters come alive and allow her to share their story with readers. Charlee loves to hear from readers.

Q: What is your writing day like?
A: I start work early and I carry my laptop with me at all times. My goal is 5000 words per week, and to meet this, I peck away at the keyboard every chance I get. On most days the words flow faster than I can type, but on occasion, it’s impossible for me to write anything. I try not to stress too much on those impossible days as it only makes things worse. At the end of each week I print what I’ve written, review, and make necessary revisions.
Q: What do you like to read?
A: Westerns, historical or contemporary, are my favorite. There’s just something about men who wear scuffed boots, hats and are not afraid to protect their women.
Q: Why do you prefer westerns?
A: I have always loved tales of the old west. I think that particular era is fascinating and there is so much history, which has helped to make us who we are today.
Q: Does family support help your writing?
A: Absolutely. I’m fortunate to have a network of family and friends who encourage me daily.
Q: Who are your favorite authors?
A: Heather Rainier, Leah Brooke, Sophie Oak, Reece Butler
Q: What was your first thought when you received the email from Siren?
A: I was in total shock. I check my email several times a day, and when it appeared, I was afraid to open it. After working up the courage to click the mouse, I read it several times before I was sure it was true.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from?
A: I’m happy to say that I’m married to a wonderful man, who encourages me to reach for the stars. He’s the biggest inspiration in my life, and allows me to be…me.
