Lavender Daye

Average Rating:

Lavender is a native Texan, and although her family has lived in many other states, she’s always called Texas her home. She began writing in elementary school, and by high school, she was addicted to romance and working on her first novel. Lavender worked as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic and as a legal secretary before becoming a stay-at-home mom. On her one and only trip abroad, Lavender visited several castles and wished for one of her own, hence her penchant for fairy tales. She lives in Texas with her husband, two kids and a very spoiled dog. A firm believer in happily-ever-afters, Lavender thinks everyone should have a fairy tale of her own, even if it’s make-believe.

Q: Where do you get ideas for your books?

A: All over the place! I got the idea for Bound by Trust from a picture of a prom dress on the internet.

Q: What challenges you most as a writer?

A: Plotting. My characters often have a mind of their own and don’t follow the script I had in mind.

Q: Do you believe in love at first sight?

A: Of course! Instant attraction and a connection are key to a great romance. And I lived the connection: I knew my hubby was ‘the one’ the moment I met him.

Q: What do you like to read?

A: Everything! I start and end each day with about thirty minutes of reading. I read a variety of authors, but at the moment my favorite is JR Ward.

Q: What is your writing day like?

A: I’m up and drinking coffee at six most mornings. I read for about twenty minutes, check email, then open a document and start writing. I prefer writing in sprints—twenty minutes of writing followed by ten minutes of housework, chatting, or just plain moving around the house. At the end of those ten minutes, I’m typing again.
