“You look like a man who had been very thoroughly fucked last night.”

That was the first sentence to come out of Richard’s mouth when Daniel arrived at the coffee shop for his shift late in the afternoon. Richard was grinning way too widely, and Daniel almost rolled his eyes in annoyance at the sight.

“Liam, Jacob, Silas, and Nathan were the perfect gentlemen,” Daniel retorted. “They took me out for dinner at a wonderful steakhouse. Then we gazed at the evening sky afterward.”

“Where at?”

“Their mansion,” Daniel replied while making his way behind the counter to log in for his shift, and he instantly regretted it because Richard was sporting that particular facial expression while smirking at him.

Daniel had been best friends with Richard for years. He definitely knew many things about Richard, and vice versa. He groaned softly because he was certain that he was about to be grilled for details to within a fucking inch of his life.

“Is the mansion located somewhere really secluded?”

Daniel nodded carefully while studying Richard’s face because he wasn’t sure where his best friend was heading to with this line of questioning. “Yes. Liam told me that he, Nate, Jacob, and Silas intentionally purchased all of the houses in that neighborhood before building the walls and creating the private estate. Don’t inquire about how those guys managed to do that because I don’t have the answer.”

Jacob, Silas, Liam, and Nathan must have done something barely legal to obtain the permission to do something like that, but Daniel wasn’t sure. He might be wrong.

“Did they build a mansion or something in the center of the estate?”

“Yeah,” Daniel confirmed. “Two levels, excluding the basement and rooftop. They also transplanted many trees from somewhere onto the empty grounds around the mansion while it was being constructed. The estate is fucking massive, and so is the mansion. The view of the night sky from the rooftop was gorgeous. Silas, Nate, Jacob, and Liam were so attentive and sweet from start to finish. I…sorry. I’m talking too much.”

Richard beamed widely. “You didn’t. You’re smiling like a goddamn idiot, and I’m so happy for you.”

Daniel felt a bit shy upon hearing that, but Richard was right. Daniel was in a good mood at the moment.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Then Richard dragged Daniel much closer to him. “Tell me more about your amazing date last evening.”

Daniel shared everything that occurred throughout dinner. He honestly felt rather suffocated initially because Nathan, Silas, Liam, and Jacob were excessively focused on him instead of the food. However, he eventually got used to it toward the end of the meal.

“I got a brief tour of the mansion. It has all the usual stuff. Bedrooms, bathrooms, an enormous home gym, dining rooms, kitchens, and—”

“Hold on. Let me stop you right there for just a moment. What do you mean by dining rooms and kitchens? Like, the mansion has more than one—”

“Yes,” Daniel confirmed. “Silas, Liam, Jacob, and Nate have many people working for them, and those employees reside there.”

Richard nodded. “Okay. Whatever. I’m more interested in what happened later in the evening after the whole stargazing session was over.”

Daniel panicked a bit. “Nothing. I didn’t have sex with them. You know me. I’m not ready to be that intimate with men.”

He was honestly glad that Richard hadn’t inquired more about what Jacob, Silas, Nathan, and Liam did for a living. Or why those employees had to live in the mansion. He didn’t like keeping secrets from Richard, but in this case, he didn’t have the right to reveal anything to his best friend. After all, the things he was hiding from Richard were other people’s stories. Not his.

“But something else must have occurred because earlier, you got out from an unfamiliar car. You only own a two-seater like me.”

A two-seater was a car that looked like a huge ball, and as the name implied, it could only accommodate two passengers. Upon waking up that morning, Liam had insisted that Daniel should go straight to the coffee shop without returning to his apartment. Daniel didn’t know why there were so many new clothes of his size in the walk-in closet, when they were bought, how Liam, Nathan, Silas, and Jacob knew of the correct sizes for his shirts and pants, and even what kind of underwear he liked, but he didn’t ask because he was afraid of the answers. He had assumed that he could borrow one of the many cars in the garage, and he was right. Kind of. Daniel was told to select any car he liked, and he chose the smallest one available, which had four seats. What he hadn’t expected was that Jacob would command two bodyguards to accompany him all the way to the coffee shop. Daniel had protested, but Jacob refused to change his mind.

“That car belongs to Nate, Jacob, Liam, and Silas. I’m just borrowing it.”

He still couldn’t bring himself to say that the car was also his. It felt too presumptuous and totally insane. Daniel liked Liam, Silas, Jacob, and Nathan very much. He had never felt this way about anybody before. Unfortunately, those four men were definitely unhinged. Completely demented and insane. The only silver lining was that Nathan, Silas, Liam, and Jacob were obviously madly in love with Daniel. Daniel could only hope that those men’s love wouldn’t turn toxic later on.

“And the guards?”

Daniel grimaced in embarrassment. Richard could be so perceptive when he put his mind to it.
