She might have a chance with the only woman she’d ever wanted to be with, but she had to play it cool, but not too cool, she mused, her gaze sliding over the back of Sofia taking in the way the dress skimmed her sexy curves. The rise of her ass was obvious, not well defined, but the shape held her attention so much, she almost missed the rise of the hairs on the back of her neck.

Erys looked around, finding a car parked down the street. The barest hint of a male face caught her notice, and she suspected it must be the feds or the local PD watching the house to see if Sofia showed up.

She turned around and hurried after Sofia. “Sweetie, are we going to be here long?”

Sofia turned to look at her, her gaze sliding past her and she turned as a moving truck pulled to the curb.

“Don’t start,” Sofia said. “I told you my boss wants me to inventory the place before they move things out.”

“Right.” She closed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around her and pulled Sofia back against her.

Sofia laughed and reached up to caress her face. “Honey.” Then Sofia did the unexpected, she turned in her arms and kissed her softly.

Erys almost lost it. Sofia’s lips were soft against hers, and the kiss sweet as honeysuckle. She curved an arm around Sofia’s waist and pulled her closer. The weight of Sofia against her was sensual, her breasts pressing against her chest as Sofia rested her hand on Erys’s arm.

Her entire body caught fire, and Erys broke the kiss. This could not happen out here, let alone at all. She had to keep her cool, keep her damned head. It would be so easy for her to forget this was just a game to Sofia, and maybe just merely a means to an end.

Jorja had asked Erys to pretend to be Sofia’s lover, and she’d agreed, hoping the sexual tension between them wasn’t all in her mind.

Breathing roughly, she rested her forehead against Sofia’s. “You shouldn’t do that without giving me some warning first.”

“Why? You’re my girlfriend—I’m not supposed to warn you that I’m going to kiss you.” She reached up and stroked the back of Ery’s neck, and Erys shivered.

The soft touch made her heart beat faster, made her want to do something crazy like strip Sofia bare and love her until neither of them could tell where one ended and the other began.

“If I was your real girlfriend I’d be dragging you into that house right now to find a bed.”

“Dragging me? Oh, no, handsome, there will never be any dragging me anywhere,” Sofia told her in a teasing tone. “You can ask me nicely.”

“Damn,” she said in a light tone at the humor in Sofia’s eyes. “You’re one of those feminists, aren’t you?”
