It didn’t take long for Chantal to park her car in front of Brendan’s house and knock on his door. Desperate for him to answer, she pleaded to the heavens that it would be him. When a tearful bearded man answered the door, she knew instantly it had to be him.
She immediately kissed him on the mouth before they hugged each other tightly. It had been years since they had stopped seeing each other, but there was still a newfound intimacy when they embraced.
“Come in,” he said, waiting for her to go inside.
Do I really want to do this? Chantal glanced back at her car, but tried to hide the fact with a smile. I’ve come this far, I can’t do this to him now. He needs me. Hugging him one last time, she went inside.
