Brimstone Blues (MF) by Tymber Dalton (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )
$5.99
Categories: Contemporary, Paranormal, Vampires/Werewolves

This reviewer's rating: 4 - Good

It's a really riveting read with a few aspects that I found to detract from an otherwise wonderful story. A continuation of Taz & Matthias' story as they grow in their relationship and try to work through the overwhelming burden of new information about her real existence as one of the most powerful vampires alive. Taz is dragged further into the mess caused by someone who wants her captured/dead but the mystery remains unsolved as far as Matthias is concerned. The greater difficulty is the never waning presence of Rafe, Matthias' cousin, whose soul lives in Taz's brain. The difficulties this could pose for Taz & Matthias down the road and the ultimate resolution of this weird threesome was not solved. I thought the ending just kind of dropped the reader without even a tantalizing seque for an upcoming book. I surely hope there is more to this story. Otherwise, there is friendship and loyalty among all the main characters, Taz regains a far greater understanding of her power and her place in the overall scheme of things, she and Matthias weather some very bumpy territory in their love relationship, and all in all, it's a good book. I'm going to go back and re-read it--I think there is so much going on here that it will take two times through to catch it all.

Love Under Two Kendalls (MFM) by Cara Covington, Morgan Ashbury (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )
$6.99
Categories: Contemporary, Menage a Trois/Quatre, Western/Cowboys

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

Morgan Ashbury writing as Cara Covington has "hit one out of the park" on this one. One of the best in this series, it deals with the aftermath of abuse, of what can tear apart a woman whose entire life has been ignored or misused by others including a mother who didn't want her. It also deals with the healing power of the love of two caring and strong men, the support and strength that comes from family and friends who consider that person strong and of worth, and the power of a mother's love to put the wellbeing of her child before all else. There are some truly funny parts in this book, and readers will love the strong women who, while in relationships with truly Alpha men, are not loathe to express their own strengths and take the circumstances by the horns. One of the best books I have read in a long time!! I'm going back to this one very soon.

The Lady Makes Three (MMF) by Morgan Ashbury (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )
$5.99
Categories: Menage a Trois/Quatre, Western/Cowboys

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

It seems to me that Morgan Ashbury is ever the author who is not afraid to wade into social issues that can easily offend lots of folks. Menage is one as well as dealing with the relationship between two bi-sexual men, especially in a ranching context in a very conservative society. Yet wade in she does, and the outcome is a story that is stimulating to the libido as well as requiring that the reader deal honestly with the love that grows between these two heroes and their attraction and subsequent affair with a strong-minded woman who takes them both on. It's the kind of novel that is not necessarily simple to read because there are lots of layers to the relationships here. But all in all, it is well-worth the time and effort and is one that I have gone back and re-visited, simply because it is a darn good story as well as one that won't give up its enjoyment in one reading alone.

Let me begin by stating that I really like this author's writing and have read everything I can find she has written so far. This story is no exception to the find writing talent and good stories she has crafted featuring the interesting and strong characters of this fictional community. The heroes here are real, authentic, and flawed men who know what they want out of life but who have been disappointed in the past, who have needed to find their own space, and who now have an opportunity to build a life that will fulfill their long-term desires. The heroine is a gutsy gal who has to finally pull up her big-gal panties and go for what/whom she desires, and take what comes. It's an entertaining story and erotic romance fiction fans will like this story a lot. There are some wonderful people here and the on-going stories of those characters who have been featured in previous stories in this series add to the charm of the novel. This is one that is really worth reading!

Family is great, and for those of us who have no family left, the thought of siblings who can be together and supportive is very enticing. But the heroine of this story will tell a different tale--a story of brothers, some of whom are really clueless about women and their feelings and needs--who take it upon themselves to be controlling to such an extent that their love and protection is smothering rather than empowering. So for this heroine to take on two Navy SEALs and to even consider a life with them is almost beyond her ability to conceive. Yet their strength is in their willingness to accept her for who she is, not to change her into their idea of who she should be as do her brothers. Perhaps that is the real point of the story: a really strong man doesn't have to worry about proving his strength. He isn't fearful of being considered "soft" if he is caring and considerate. It is a delightful and heart-warming story and another great read from an author who has delighted her readers time and again. I hope she keeps on keeping them coming!

Calleigh's Collar (MF) by Skye Michaels (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )
$3.5
Categories: BDSM, Contemporary

This reviewer's rating: 4 - Good

A well-written novella about two people who have been glancing off one another, both physically and emotionally, for two years. Unfortunately, Calleigh's friend was less than "friendly" when she pushed Callie to break a contract that put her in grave danger at the hands of a Domme who was unprincipled and mean-spirited. It is a story that will be entertaining for those who like the BDSM element in their romance fiction and has a great deal of tension, n ot only of a sexual nature, but because of the Domme bent on punishing Callie publically, just as she did with here submissives. There are some twists here that make this a fun read in spite of the really serious issues with which this story deals. Well-written and balanced in a short format.

$5.99
Categories: Menage a Trois/Quatre, Western/Cowboys

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

Another stellar writing effort by Tymber Dalton writing as Tessa Monroe and one that is intense and filled with the pressures of a society that excludes anyone "different" as well as those who seek to live loving and committed lives in a configuration that is considered "perverted" by many. There is joy and love here, but it is also tempered by sorrow and loss. Yet there is a sense that these three people have the inner fortitude to bear up under the remembered pain of the past as well as meeting the challenges of the present and future. I really marvelous read.

Claimed for the Master's Pleasure (MF) by Jan Bowles (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )
$5.5
Categories: BDSM, Contemporary

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

Having read a number of Ms Bowles' previous offerings, I was delighted to be reading this newest of her efforts. Well written and certainly rooted in the BDSM lifestyle, it is also the story of people who life has disappointed as well as those they should have been able to trust in the past. Finding a path toward each other is not easy as it is based initially on the repayment of a very large debt. Yet there are indications that somehow they are working at finding some emotional connection as well. It is a very erotic romance and a very entertaining read and one that will not only please BDSM fans but readers who enjoy this particular author's "take" on that lifestyle and relationship format.

Love and Brimstone (MF) by Tymber Dalton (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )
$5.99
Categories: Contemporary, Paranormal, Vampires/Werewolves

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

As always, or at least in my own personal reading experience, Tymber Dalton NEVER fails to please! In this new paranormal novel we meet a new breed of vampire, one that has adapted with a changing world and has become a 21st century creature and not the vamps of the middle ages that so often still populate paranormal romance. But one thing that has not changed: they still live in hiding, working hard to keep their species unknown to humans. They still have serious enemies, and here is a story of a young vampire female, raised to believe she is human, now working as a highly regarded attorney, and about to have her world turned upside down. Of all the stories Ms Dalton has written, I think this is one of the most emotionally charged, one that has within it the joy of love discovered and the pain of loss remembered and newly experienced. I know it was certainly an emotional roller coaster ride for me. The characters are interesting and unique--the revelations about the changed vampire world are revealing of our changing times, and yet, the age-old need to love and be loved never goes away. The heroine is upended by the discoveries of powers and abilities that throw her completely for a loop; discovery that very powerful and old vampires have been shielding her and protecting her from attack and abuse is almost more than she can absorb. As always, there are surprises throughout the text and the tension and movement of the story never wanes. This is one more marvelous read to add to the list by an author who seems destined to keep us all wanting more. A truly delightful and entertaining book.

Hot loving--the kind that burns with a white hot heat. A comedy of errors, life-altering decisions made when drugged, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? Well, maybe not. It's another entertaining read featuring characters that are definitely one of a kind, a heroine who simply wants her life back, and three people who need to find their "others" and need it soon. This really can be read as a stand alone novel, but it's a great series and should be enjoyed in that context. I keep waiting for Clay's romantic break-through. Soon, I hope.

She's running from a relationship she doesn't want, seeking a life she has desired for a long time and hoping that an old friendship connection can help make that happen, only to find out that the "old friend" is dead. This story is so well-written that it is not difficult to relate to a heroine who now has run out of options only to be frightened silly by law enforcement bent on dragging her into a political web of wrong-doing and one that may have been a part of her father's life but one from which she has always been careful to distance herself. This is a very good tale and keeps the brain and imagination working throughout. Yet it is filled with hot loving and genuine friendship. One of those stories that keeps the reader wanting more. You can't do much better than this!

This is another in a series that makes clear that the road to true love seldom if ever runs smooth. What's a woman to do when she has finally reached the point where a long-held dream is within reach only to meet up with the only man and his partner who she has truly loved. Short-term affair? Friends with benefits? It is a dilemma that our heroine must resolve and is at the heart of this story. Just a really terrific read and one that will engage the imagination right from the first. And while most readers only live in a menage in their fantasies, there is still that sense that many readers have encountered the kind of impasse that the characters in this story must resolve. A very entertaining read and one that is sure to please that something in all who love books that craves constant satisfaction!

What does a woman do when she's allowed her pursuit of professional goals to put her personal life on hold--for ten years? She now faces the fact that she is still "innocent" of a man's touch and she wants to change that--NOW!! Deacon and Boyd are both willing to be her first lovers but they also are honest about their lifestyle and what it requires--loving two men as well as being "into" their exhibitionist activities. Doesn't work for a woman with stagefright, does it? This story is loaded with issues and is really thought provoking as well as being a pleaser for lovers of erotic romance fiction. It is insightful about a number of those issues and brings them into the heart of the story. A really terrific feast for the mind as well as entertaining for the libido.

OMG--what a fun story and one that will please fans of erotic romance, that's for sure! It is also a story that comes across as very real, with men who want a woman who will "fit" their lifestyle of menage, and a woman who is just now realizing her dreams--dreams she has held dear for a significant part of her life. The crisis is one that many people must resolve and here is assumes a larger-than-life persona as something that could really tear these three people apart. Characters that will appear in future books in this series are introduced and the reader is made aware of some of their issues. Even though this is book 2 in this series, the action really happens before the story that is told in book 1, largely because fans of these characters wanted to know their background story. It is a delightful tale that is engaging and holds the reader's interest from the first. All of these characters are strong--alpha males who know their own minds and preferences, wanting a future with a good woman but not sure that it will ever come to pass. Yet the heroine is a strong, sassy, smart woman who is a joy to encounter and one who is not about to be run over by men just because she is female. A really fun read and one that will be enjoyed by me more than once.

4.5 out of 5. This is a well-written story of a woman's attempt at entering into and remaining in recovery from Crystal Meth, one of the most addictive substances on the planet. The two men who have loved her in the past now team up to bring her into a Dom/sub relationship, replacing her addiction to drugs with her desire to please her masters. There are times when I think the story lagged just a bit, and that surprised me as I know Ms Acres is an experienced author and writes with a deft hand. Suffice it to say that the story was well told in spite of the brevity of the format. I think there were aspects of the book that would have been served by extending the word count and dealing a bit more with some of the situations and certainly with the brothers who loved their sister. But all in all, it was a really good book and one I enjoyed thoroughly.

No Bag Limit (MFMM) by Kaliana Cole (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

Emma is a smart, savvy, caring woman who is a published author of note and one who has been living in fear for five years because of a stalker. Thinking she was safe, tucked away in a small town in Big Sky Country, Emma is shocked to begin experiencing an attraction to three brothers, all of whom come to believe that Emma is the "sun" that lights up their sky. This is a story of four people, all of whom are seeking a sense of "place" in their personal relationships and who are all, in their own way, a bit tentative about acknowledging that they may have found "the one." Ms Cole is a really, really good writer and her stories resonate with the feel of real life, with people who could easily be our next door neighbors, who love the land, each other, revel in deep friendship and community ties, and who have hearts as big as the outdoors. Ms Cole doesn't back away from the negatives of human experience but calls it like she sees it. All in all, it is a compelling story that attracts the reader's mind and engages the imagination from the first word. There's lots to like here. This story is well worth the time and effort to read and will leave the reader knowing it has been a terrific reading experience.

Forgiveness (MFM) by Allyson Young (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )

Categories: Contemporary, Menage a Trois/Quatre

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

This is really a story about trust and the absolute necessity to protect it and keep it strong, no matter the nature of the relationship. It is especially important when a person grants power to lovers in a Dom/sub relationship. When that trust is broken because of anger or when people who are trusted forget where their first responsibility lies, then the relationship is broken and the heart is wounded, sometimes almost beyond repair. This story involves three people who forgot the importance of trust in the face of commercial piracy, putting business and financial success before maintaining trust with the person they claimed to love beyond all else. It is a story of their effort to regain that trust and the deep wounds that were almost beyond repair. Their is deep sadness and regret in these pages, hurt and almost a sense of hopelessness. But the story is well-told and keeps the reader moving forward in the hopes of a happy ending, even when that happiness appears to have alluded all the persons involved. It is a compelling tale and one that romance fictions lovers will appreciate. A really terrific read. Only one detraction: I would have loved for the story to have been longer, to have had more opportunity to know about the history of this relationship and to understand more about the characters. That being said, the author used this shorter format well, and my only criticism is that I thought the ending to be a bit abrupt. That's saying more about me than the story, but all in all, it was a very satisfying read and one that I will most assuredly go back and enjoy again in the near future.

Oh, Ms Ramagos, you give us such good stories!! We all love gorgeous cowboys with all their muscles and mysterious glances and those Stetsons pulled low over their eyes. This is a delightful novella about one of rodeo's most successful women who has sacrificed her personal life for achieving her rodeo dream. Now her father, himself a former champion, has suffered his third stroke, and Jaelynn-Sue is looking at the end of all that makes her heart beat faster--with the exception, of course, of that smooth-moving cowboy who is teaching line dancing for couples. When their mutual attraction blazes hot, hotter, hottest, the future poses some bumpy places in the road to happiness. As a reviewer who has read several Dakota Trace books, I was delighted to read this one. It may have been around for a while, but it was still a reading treat. Add in the fact that the heroine was a big, beautiful woman who was being treated badly, not only by her often drunk boyfriend, but by her family who were focused on her weight instead of her as a person. Enter Noah, a man with a different perspective on life and on women, and our heroine discovers a man who appreciates her lush body and her razor sharp mind. The best kind of guy, eh? This is a delightful and engaging story, one that will warm the heart and entertain the mind, not to mention it will massage the libido as well. Just a really terrific read!!

It started out great but then it started to drag, and by the end of the story I really didn't have a good grip on the tale at all. This may, indeed, reflect far more on me and where I was in my life or what was going on in my head at the time. In all fairness, I am planning to re-read and then see what happens. It just dragged for me and while I finished it, I didn't think it lived up to the blurb or advance promos.

Strong Attraction (LoveXtreme) by Chloe Lang (Published by: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. )
$4.99
Categories: Contemporary, Menage a Trois/Quatre, Western/Cowboys

This reviewer's rating: 5 - Outstanding

The first in a new series from Chloe Lang that is, in a way, an extention of characters in her series based in Wilde, Nevada. Coming to her cousin's wedding--she is marrying five husbands--the heroine is blindsided by a gorgeous guy who is related to her cousin's husbands-to-be. And he grabs her and is determined to keep her. She, on the other hand, is determined to claim the dream job in Southern California. Hot loving but a clash of dreams and hopes. Filled with more of the fun folks in this out-of-the-way community, this is a great beginning to a series that will surely be a fun group of novellas and lots of great romantic stuff.
