STORY EXCERPT

"It was Adam that took the actions to save our little nephew. After seeing that Krispin wasn't getting anywhere with his magic, he raced to his side and started CPR on the baby. Krispin joined in, and they alternated working on him. Thanks to him, our nephew survived."

"It was amazing. I was frozen along with everyone else, feeling helpless, but your mate didn't hesitate. He just jumped in to help,” Devin said.

Pride filled me at the thought of my mate saving my nephew. "And the baby and Embry are okay?" I confirmed again.

"Yes, Embry and little Evan are doing great," Roarke said.

I smiled at the name. My brother was determined to call him Maximus, and Embry was dead-set against it. I knew Embry would win out. Angus would do anything for his little mate.

"You said Adam was freaked out, but he helped?" I asked, confused.

Devin nodded. "Yes, your man is a great doctor. He didn't see paranormal—he just saw a baby in trouble. He was tense before when Embry first shouted out and then again after the excitement was over. Especially when Angus let loose his celebratory roar. He left shortly after that.”

"He was hesitant coming here at all. I was able to scent his nervousness when I'd opened the door. Luckily, Bailey was there to ease him in and welcome him. You should have told him you were going out of town or at the very least called him," Roarke said.

I cringed at the rebuke. "I know I should've called him, but I knew if I'd heard his voice, I'd end up leaving Addison and coming back. It was hard enough fighting my dragon to go in the first place."

Roarke opened his mouth to speak, but I quickly raised my hand, stopping him. "It made sense for me to go. Adam had to work at the hospital, and you wouldn't want to leave your hatchlings or Devin. It was the right choice. I agree with you, though. I should've called him."

Roarke nodded. "You should call him tomorrow. Let him know you're thinking of him."

"I plan to do more than call, baby brother." I laughed as Roarke cringed.

"Ew, man, don't put images of you like that in my head," Rourke said.

I smiled and stood. "Then get your mind out of the gutter. Thank you for telling me about tonight."

I started to walk toward the back door. I still planned on shifting and doing a fly-by. "You're going to see him tonight," Roarke said from behind me.

I looked over my shoulder. "I'm just going to do a flyover. I'll see you in the morning. Good night."

I continued outside. The snow was still falling hard, but I was a red caste dragon. Fire was my affinity. I had an inner flame that always burned inside of me, allowing me to breathe fire. A little snow and cold wouldn’t affect me.

"Want some company?" Dimitri said, coming out the door.

I shrugged. "I don't mind."

He nodded and walked to the other side of the deck. I swiftly took off my clothes and closed my eyes, allowing my dragon to take over. In an instant, my body transformed, and dark red scales covered my massive form. I was as large as an RV, about fifteen feet tall, and from the top of my head to the tip of my tail measured about twenty feet long. I stood on my hind legs and unfurled my massive leathery wings.

I looked to my right, and Dimitri's muscular dragon stood. He was smaller than me by a few feet but had more bulk. His scales were pitch black. Even his horns were a shade of black. He blended into the night.

"Ready?" I rumbled.

He nodded and took off into the sky. I pumped my wings and followed. After a few moments of allowing my dragon to play in the clouds, I veered toward the city of Walden. I was now on a mission. I was going to get near my mate. I dived down and flew low to the ground, coming across the subdivision Adam lived.

If the streetlights hadn't illuminated the area, I'd have gone closer, but I saw his home. It was a small, single-story home. There were more houses on either side, separated by a vacant lot. The back of his home had a dense forest leading up the small hill and going for a few acres. A soft light glowed in the back window. I hovered just out of range of the streetlights, watching for any movement.

I thought of Adam getting ready for bed. He was a mature man but still kept in shape. He had ice blue eyes, and I loved the gray that sprinkled his temples. I didn't know how old he was, but he was older than most of the other human mates that had joined our makeshift circle.

"How do you fight against taking him and claiming him?" Dimitri asked earnestly. I looked over, and he hovered next to me, flapping his enormous wings.

"It takes every bit of control. But what stops me from busting in there and demanding Adam’s acceptance is I want him to love me. I know if I just fly off with him, that will take longer. He may even end up hating me."

Truth was my dragon was pushing me to claim Adam and was getting antsy. That was never a good thing. Many called me an asshole, and in truth, I'd taken the title and played it up. But the reality of the matter was, it was my dragon who was a snarly son of a bitch. My human half was very laidback and allowed my dragon to make the majority of my decisions.

Movement outside my mate's house caught my attention. There was someone on the tree line watching Adam’s home. Anger surged through my body, and my inner flame grew, ready to burst free. How dare anyone spy on my mate!

ADULT EXCERPT

I couldn’t help but laugh. My laughter quickly died as Aaran unbuckled his pants—the sound of his zipper carried into the night sky. A dark red trail of hair led to the treasure that I longed to see. He slid his jeans down, and his hard dick popped free.

My eyes widened, and my cock pressed hard against my slacks. Aaran had to be at least nine inches and was uncut. His foreskin drew back tight around his bulbous head. A small bead of pre-cum gleamed in the slit. I longed to drop to my knees and taste him and trace the long veins of his shaft.

A growl caused me to raise my gaze. Desire shone in Aaran's eyes, and I knew he was fighting to restrain himself.

"S-shift," I stuttered. I didn't trust myself to say more.

He closed his eyes and exhaled. A light shot out, and then appearing in his place stood a giant dragon. He had to be larger than a bus, maybe the size of a train car. His scales were dark red, and they covered his entire body. He had a broad head with two large white horns that protruded from the top, and smaller horns surrounded the frame of his massive face. I looked up, and Aaran's eyes had turned a light shade of red and had a black vertical slit in the middle. He was stunning.

"You can touch me if you want," his deep voice rumbled.

My eyes widened in surprise. "You can speak like this?"

He rumbled again, in what I thought was a laugh. "Yes, dragons are one of the few shifters that can speak in their animal form. When we bond, we'll also have a mind link where we can speak telepathically."

"Really? That's amazing."

I stepped forward and reached out my hand. I wasn't afraid, and that shocked me. But a part of me knew that this dragon was still Aaran, and he would never hurt me. I ran my fingers over his smooth scales. I was surprised at their texture, because they looked rough. His body shuddered, and he rumbled like a cat that was purring.

"Do you want to go for a ride?" Aaran asked.

"I'm not sure. I get sick on roller coasters," I admitted.

"I won't do any stunts, I promise," Aaran replied.

I nodded and walked to his side. He extended his massive wings, and they were a darker red than his already dark scales. They were almost a burgundy color. I let my hand glide over the tendons, and the skin felt leathery under my fingers. Aaran's entire body shook as I pet his wings.

"They're sensitive," Aaran rumbled, and I withdrew my touch.

"I'm sorry," I said, grabbing hold of a scale that protruded at the base of his large neck. I lifted myself up and straddled his body.

"It's okay, mo leannan. I like your touch," he replied.

I secured myself as best as I could and held on to two smaller scales that stuck up like handlebars.

"I'm ready," I said. And with that, his vast wings began to flap, and we were airborne.

It was incredible. We flew through the clouds. Aaran was true to his word and didn't do any fancy maneuvers. I looked down, and the city lights looked amazing from this view.

We stayed in the air for a few more minutes before coming low near the small clearing. I felt heat rise underneath me, and suddenly, the night sky was bright with orange and red. Flames burst in front of us, melting the snow on the ground. I watched in amazement at the precision of the fire. It only touched the ground and none of the surrounding trees. As quickly as it happened, the blaze disappeared.

Aaran dropped lower to the ground, and as soon as Aaran's claws touched down, he shifted. I found myself snug against his naked body. Flying with Aaran was indescribable. I loved it. I looked up and smiled.

He smiled down and leaned in, kissing me firmly. I moaned into his mouth. His hands trailed over my body, and mine caressed his back. His stiff shaft rubbed firmly against my stomach, and I pushed back from his embrace. Breaking the kiss, I fell to my knees.

Wow, the ground's still warm from his fire, I thought briefly before lifting my hand and wrapping it around his firm cock. Leaning forward, I took his leaking head in my mouth.

Aaran cried out in pleasure. "Yes, fucking suck me!"

His salty flavor burst over my tongue; he was delicious. I relaxed my jaw and allowed him to slide further into my mouth. I didn't know if I could take him all the way, and I was out of practice. The last blowjob I'd given was over thirty years ago with my roommate in college. I pressed on and gagged when his firm shaft hit the back of my throat.

I pulled back and used my hand to start a rhythm, hoping Aaran was enjoying receiving as much as I was enjoying giving—by the moans he made, he was.

Abruptly, he pulled his cock out and pushed me. I fell to my back in shock, wondering what he was doing. I didn't have to wonder for long. He grabbed hold of my pants and tore them from my body, freeing my cock from its confines.

He walked around me and went to his knees, straddling my head. His cock now bobbed in front of my face. He leaned over and positioned his cock toward my mouth.

"Open," he commanded gruffly.

I obeyed instantly, and he slid his cock into my mouth. He leaned forward, and moist heat surrounded my dick. I screamed around his cock in ecstasy. He began to fuck my mouth and suck my dick at the same time.
